Missed Both Deadlines-But Happy! (Long)

Hi Everyone, Well, yesterday was my 40th birthday. When my husband and I got married last August, I was 38 and I said "I want to have a baby before my 40th birthday!" I had no idea if I could even GET pregnant and said it tongue in cheek. On January 23rd at our first OB appt., I was given our due date, Sept 9. My 40th birthday was yesterday, Sept 10th! I am still pregnant, happily awaiting our daughter's birth. My mom is here visiting and MH took us out to dinner last night to celebrate my 40th. For my birthday, he gave me a gift certificate for a mani/pedi at my nail place, and one for a haircut and color at my hair place, along with a card that said he'll be happy to watch the baby while I go and have this me time-plus a Kit Kat and Bit o Honey for my hospital bag Not bragging at all, I spent a long time waiting to get married, watching all of my friends do so-some twice, one three times, and didn't know if any of this would ever happen for me. So I wanted to say congratulations to ALL of us! However we got here, we got here. And a special hello to any "late bloomers" like me, who spent a long time waiting to meet "the one," become a mom, and have their time. Hear me roar

Sounds like a wait well worth it. though hopefully you won't have to wait much longer! (and you're still technically a mom before your 40th, even if you haven't held that little girl in your arms just yet.)

:-)  reminds me alot of my own story--alot of my friends have kids in the 2nd year of college...my oldest is in her 2nd year of preschool :-)  Enjoy this time and congrats!
