Natural Birth

Just switched OBs - 2 days shy of 35 weeks!

I was so indecisive about switching, and realized this morning I was holding back because I felt bad for the practice I would be leaving.  How silly!  I need to do what's best for me & baby.  So I'm switching to a natural birth OB, she taught some parts of the hypnobirthing class I took and is 100% dedicated to supporting natural birth.  And she delivers all her own patients (my other docs may or may not be there).  I feel a HUGE sense of relief.  Now I just have to call my other docs and get copies of my records.  Hopefully this is another step to help me have a med-free birth!!

  • Good for you!  I'm glad you posted this!  So often we get posts about women who are unhappy but think it's too late to switch, it's never too late :)  Yay for supportive OBs!

  • I live in NJ - here's a link to her practice (she shares with 2 other docs, but you don't have to see all of them).  She is pretty cool, young and very supportive!

    Her name is Dr. Aristizabal

    This!

Glad to hear the switch was easy for you! I am in the process of switching and it's been so annoying! I requested my records to be transferred and the new clinic won't let me make an appointment until they receive them. Ugh! I can't wait till it's all done and official.

  • So glad the switch is good for you!!  I am in the process of making this decision myself.  I have an appointment next week with one of the OBs in my practice (I see the nurse practioner normally - have for 9 yrs), and I will have a list of questions.. I have a feeling I will not hear what I want to.  This is my second go round, so I am more in tune with what I need.

I hope this is what you needed for your natural birth!!
