I want to get DS1 some type of building set that he can use now, but will still like as he gets older. We have duplos and lincoln logs (he's not too into those), but I'm looking for something different. Something he could use to build different types of things and be a bit more creative with. Any sets that have been a hit with your kids?
Re: Building sets for 4 year olds
We love Trio blocks at our house. They are cool and quite different from Duplos.

We also love magnet blocks, but they can be more pricey. We have these:

DS still plays with Megablocks, honestly, and we plan to get him a basic set of Legos for Christmas.
We got Zoobs as a hand-me-down and my 4 yr old loves to play with them. He makes fishing poles, crowns, people, decorations, everything! I even like playing with them too.
