I have a collection of cloth diapers and I hear people talking about striping diapers. Why would you need to strip them, how often and how do you do it?
I have never had to do it. It's only if you have problems with repelling/stink. I don't think it is something that needs to be done on a regular basis.
I've stripped my diapers when I had major stink issues, and no matter how many adjustments to soap, extra rinses, more water, extra washes without water would solve the problem. I stripped then switched soap.
Otherwise whenever I have some minor issues from build up due to hard water I strip with RLR, this is maybe once a year or so?
Most people strip because of buildup from hard water, or diaper rash creams, or stink issues. There are a lot of things you can do to trouble shoot build up or stink issues before having to do a strip. If you check out the FAQ there will be instructions on how to strip your diapers.
