We just got a house, so we finally have a fireplace! I'm very excited to use this coming winter time. But my fh grandfather mentioned maybe we should move the tv on the mantle if we light a fire.
Has anyone else encountered this? Do we really need to be that concerned with the heat affecting the tv?
I think it's a valid concern especially if it's an older home. I might use it the first time without the tv there just to see how much heat goes directly up to where the tv would be. Is it has or wood burning? If gas, does it have a blower? I think those factors would come into play.

It has a gas starter, but it's wood burning. Doing a trial is a good idea! Thanks.
