QOTW: Are you crafty? Have you made or are you planning on making anything for baby or the nursery? Let?s hear what you?ve got ladies. PIP your project if you are able.
Not really crafty. I have done scarp-booking in the past. I have also made photo calenders, I have thought about doing a cross stitch with LO''s details. I remember my mom always doing these for friends or family when I was little. It would really be more of memory of my mom then anything else.

Passed my Glucose test!
So happy not to have to take the 3 hour one again.
Asked the Dr about the numbness in my hand. Really nothing I can do. I am trying sleeping with a brace like people use for carpel tunnel. It is strange and not sure it helps anything.
QOTW: I made 3 cross-stitches of Sesame Street characters for the nursery for DS #1. There were two more in the collection, but I didn't get them done before DS#1 arrived. I have one of them done for DS#2 and the other is almost finished. I am also crocheting both boys blankets. I just ordered the kits last week. They should be in soon and I'll start right away.
Updates/Vents: I see the OB for my 28w appt tomorrow. Found out last tues that I passed the 2hr GTT. Going to ask the doc about scheduling a c/s. DS#1s big boy room is all done. Now I can start preparing the nursery for DS #1, well, that and finish painting the trim and doors in the main floor entry and hallway. And finish the cross-stitch, and the two blankets, and keep up on my reading challenge. No wonder I am exhausted. I think I'll take Thurs/Fri off this week to relax!
I did cross-stitches like that for my sisters kids, but didn't do them for my own. There are some really cute patterns out there though. Yay on the GTT, such a relief, isn't it. I passed my 2hr last week, thank goodness.

Made/making curtains, haven't worked on them for awhile as we have moved on to bigger projects i.e. sanding and painting and figure I can finish them up easily enough closer to our due date. I made a faux chenile blanket for a friend who is due 2 weeks before us. Fairly crafty but the skills are a bit rusty. Don't have a pic to pip but if you search for thermal football curtains on pinterest the site I got the idea from comes up.

Vent - Woke up with awful gas pains last night, or I should say this morning, was up from 3 - 5am which I get up at 5:30 anyways so that didn't do anything for me. I had my greens shake before bed last night, usually I have it earlier in the day... don't think I will be making that mistake again any time soon. I'm quite tired and slightly haunted by that whole episode.
Update - We have our first Childbirth express classes tonight. Neither DH or I are very excited about it. I'm one of those people who would really rather go in blind about the whole thing. Ignorance is bliss IMO so I can't freak myself out or my more easily nervous hubs out... but off to class we will go.
QOTW: Are you crafty? Have you made or are you planning on making anything for baby or the nursery? Let?s hear what you?ve got ladies. PIP your project if you are able.
Well, I like to think I'm crafty? But, that's subjective- LOL! I really want to recover/paint a lamp shade/lamp to go in the nursery. Found a great blog that explains how to do this simply and effectively.
Updates or vents?
Currently just over 10 weeks, NT scan in 2 1/2 weeks, will be on pins and needles until then!
Really loving the turn to Fall weather around these parts. I'm glad I'm starting to get energy back b/c I want to do a deep clean and some baking soon.

I will probably sew something when I get my machine set up in our new case. Not sure what. Something easy since I am just starting out! I also saw some really cute hanging letters that would be super easy to make so I am thinking about doing some of those to spell LO's name on the wall.
Updates or vents?
Passed my 2 hr. glucose test! YAY! We have our 20 week U/S next Wed. so hopefully we will find out what team we are on. Can't wait! What else??? I am feeling more and more movement and I LOVE it!!
QOTW:
Crafty, yes, but I've already talked about what I've done so far with DD's new room. And the revived nursery is keeping the same neutral jungle theme. I might try to add some new little animal paintings around the same time that I'll be painting up some for DD's room.
I'll get some pictures of the sky and happy sun that will be smiling down on the crib once more.
Updates/Vents:
2 months to go. Had u/s last week which shows LO is growing well and already head down. I'm actually looking forward to the chance that as he gets bigger, he'll be able to move less... right now he is just SO wriggle. I'm almost used to it enough to not get too distracted at work, though.
Also, I seem to be feeling a little more thanks to the iron supps. (Of course that's more of the positive and negative effects. TMI...)
Today, though, I'm just having an "uncomfortable" day. Clothing doesn't sit right, there's a foot pressed just under my ribs which makes bending forward awkward.
I've had some bad gas pains this pg myself, it sucks. I hate eating 10 tums to feel relief, nothing like a little chalk in your mouth, but I guess, it's better than suffering though the gas and bloating. I hope you get a much better sleep tonight.
Believe me, even after a childbirth class, you are still going into delivery blind, every birth is different, they can't really prepare you for it, they just give you some tools and information to cope with the chaos! I found the best part of our childbirth class (took a weekend course last time around) was the great people we met.
I hope the next couple of weeks fly by and your nt scan is here before you know it. I too am loving the fall weather, this is my favourite time of year. Nice temps during the day, cool nights, fresh air and fall colours.
congrats. Any reason as to why they did the test so early? Usually they aren't done until 26-28w or even later. Do you have other risk factors, are you likely to have to do it again closer to the normal time? GL at your A/s. I hope your peanut is co-operative and you get to see the goods!
My big thing is making blankets and burp cloths. I also like to do crafts and will be doing a lot for the little girls bed room
Updates: I go to the OB every two weeks and on the 20th at 30 weeks we are getting a growth U/S, I am so excited to see my little girl.
glad to hear baby is growing well. Sorry about the foot in the ribs. I never had to deal with that with DS#1 and this peanut is still lying across my ute for the most part. Oh and stool softeners are your friend!
Hi! Benoitfan- could you update my due date to May 3rd? I just posted an u/s update and confirmed I'm a day earlier than I thought, who knows I'm sure it will change 5 more times. :0.
Updates or Vents? Still not feeling good, dying of hunger all the time but I take a few bites and feel like it's all going to come back up. My Best friends bachlorette/shower is this coming weekend, fortunately I have help with the planning because I'll probably be ready to crawl under my covers by 9pm...her weddings in 3 weeks so I'm sure I'll feel even worse by then but what can you do, timings not always perfect is it..

QOTW: Are you crafty? Have you made or are you planning on making anything for baby or the nursery? Let?s hear what you?ve got ladies. PIP your project if you are able. I am anti-crafty. Crafts scream and run away when they see me coming. The only idea I have for a nursery so far (and I will NOT make this myself) is a border collie mobile because I read that infants like high-contrast black-and-white stuff. I have been a dogmom for a long time and currently have a shepherd/collie mix and a border collie mix.
Updates or vents? I have a cold. My throat is so sore. My first illness during pregnancy. Ugh!! Drinking lots of tea, eating soup, trying to take it easy. Other than that, I have a little more energy and am a little less queasy than last week.
Over-40 parents...what we lack in vigor, we make up for with cunning.
Benoitfan- I love Emmett!
QOTW: Are you crafty? Have you made or are you planning on making anything for baby or the nursery? Let?s hear what you?ve got ladies. PIP your project if you are able.
I am so not crafty. At all. My co-worker got me a scrapbook for my birthday last year and I printed a hole bunch of pictures from DD's first year, but that's all I've done! Oh! I stenciled some letters and framed them for her playroom. And I have three embroidery circle thingys that I'm going to put fabric in to hang in DD's room. I've had these circle thingys for about 6 months.
Updates or vents?
Nothing new!
Good luck to you both on the names! If nothing seems to fit, it may be possible that you just haven't heard the right name yet and some day along the way you'll hear something that just fits just right... Hopefully. My fingers are crossed for you both on that.
(We were lucky in the name department. We'd picked boy and girl names before we knew DD was a D. And decided to just stick with the boy name now that we're having a son. Besides, DH's family seems to have a history of naming after each other, so that's kinda what we chose to do, in a sentimental way.)
Can never have too many blankets or burp cloths, so good all on those! 2w appts already eh? Wow, time seems to be flying!
Did your doc officially change your EDD? Usually, they won't change it unless you are measuring at least 5-7d off and usually they base that on the 10-12w u/s because that's when babies are mostly the same size, before and after that growth rates can be crazy different and that is why they don't change your EDD. For example at 7w, my baby measured 1 day behind according to me LMP, at 12 w it was 7 days ahead, at 15.5 w it was 7-9d ahead and at my a/s at 19w it was 7d ahead. My OB has never changed my EDD, even though I know that I o'd on CD12, not 14 and that my cycle is only 26d.
Whatever the case, I can change your EDD on the list if you want.
BTW, I hope your nausea/morning sickness eases up by the time your friends wedding rolls around.
If you want crafty stuff for your nursery and you aren't crafty, check out Etsy, if its available someone is selling it handmade on Etsy. I bet you could find a mobile exactly like what you are talking about on there and FTR, I think it would be so awesome!
As for your cold, I am so sorry, they suck at the best of times, but are brutal during pg. If your head gets congested and you don't want to take any OTC meds for it, try the Neilmed Sinus Rinse or Neti-pot, they work wonders.
You don't have to be crafty to scrapbook. There are tons of websites with scrapbook page ideas and there are a few good magazines. Also, if you go into your local scrapbook place and wander around, you will see some of their layouts and ideas for pages, that you can steal and use for yourself. I scrap and my pages are pretty linear, don't have alot of embellishment and are usually simple, but I like them that way. Don't give up, it's gets easier as you go. If you have friends that scrap book, go to a crop night with them, or have them come over and do some scrapping at your place to give you a hand.
Yep, being over age 35 and having a baby weighing more than 8lbs 10oz puts you at increased risk of GD. I'm 41, my first was 9lbs and I failed the 1hr. Passed the 2hr, but think I may be insulin resistant at this point. I have to talk to my doc about this tomorrow. Of course, I don't want GD or anything that goes along with it, but I don't want to have a false sense of security and risk harming my baby because GD is a PITA and I'm in denial. Double edged sword, I guess. I have all the highlighed risk factors, yay me!
FYI-
The following factors increase the risk of developing gestational diabetes during pregnancy:
I've been going to an RE and he didn't give me an official due date, we can't calculate off my period because I know I ovulated late my bfp cycle, so based on my + opk he has me at 6 wks 3 days and I'm measuring 6 wks 3 days so it makes sense. My first OB appt is in two weeks so let's wait till then! One day either way isn't going to make a big difference is it!

I'm not terribly crafty myself, but I've gotten a few things off of Etsy for the nursery.

sex of baby (if known, or will it be a surprise?): It's a girl!
Not too crafty, but will try to create a collage of siblings' baby pics to post above baby's changing table.
Vents/updates: feeling pretty snarky and angry lately. Tired of being sick and tired
Looking forward to the Nuchal u/s and some nice pics of my little love though, and excited to announce to all of DH family soon.
I really like Lucas - DH gave it a thumbs down.
I am so freakin excited to add you to the check-in Petra! Oh and I am hoping and praying and have everything crossed, that this time, you WILL be making crafts for your nursery for this precious rainbow baby!
Well being a professional photographer/artist, I'm sure their will be lots of custom artwork in your babies nursery. Very cool.
Sorry you are having a rough go. I have IBS, but thankfully it hasn't been too bad lately (2nd tri was the worst). Oh and insomnia is awful. I just got permission from my OB to start taking my RX again due to low dosage, thank the Lord, maybe I'll be able to fall asleep and won't stay awake for hours after every pee break!
I hear ya. You should get a 2nd wind in 2nd tri. Then the tiredness returns in 3rd tri. GL at your NT scan!
Ya, mine did too, last night. We are down to Brayden, Ashton and Grayson. At least it's progress.
Might not be "crafty", but is certainly artsy and requires some talent. I bet whatever theme you choose, it will be awesome!

Im not very crafty anymore. I used to sew and I did make a cute nursery for my last bub but this time round I have less and less time and energy to get anything other than daily chores accomplished. I think this bub will be sharing the existing nursery . I have a 4 bedroom house but the 4th bedroom is way up the other end of the house and I want them all close by me
QOTW: I am making a cross stitch blanket that matches the nursery theme. Last night I finally started actually sewing. I also have a name plate for the door and a cross stitch birth announcement that match but I don't know if I will get all of it done.
Updates or vents: I have not been able to access the bump in days. Good news is that second tri is treating me well. I have a nice little bump and I have been told that I am now "glowing" instead of the green tinge that I have been sporting. I have so much energy that I exhaust everyone around me.
QOTW: Are you crafty? Have you made or are you planning on making anything for baby or the nursery? Let?s hear what you?ve got ladies. PIP your project if you are able.
Not a very crafty person per say....creative, yes.....crafty no. I scrapbook a bit. Looking forward to doing that for baby's first year!

Doing well----will be hitting 30 weeks on Friday. Can't believe it! Last appt last week went well. Baby measuring about 3.5 pounds. Feeling A TON of movement which brings me such joy.
The new GD diagnosis has been a bit rough, but I think I am finally settling in and adjusting. Missing my carbs and my ice cream though! : (
Can't believe that I only have 10 weeks to go. Just put in my leave of absence letter at work so they can get a sub for my kiddos for the 12 weeks I will miss. Making it all very real!
