Slings/Carriers

Anyone have any suggestions on a sling/carrier for plus size ladies?

Trying to work @ home with the little one is proving difficult. Looking to see if wearing him would make him happier.

Re: Slings/Carriers

  • Baby K'tans come in different sizes to fit different parents. I have an XL I can forward to you if you want. DD is way too big for it now.

A wrap or soft-structured carrier could work well too. Wraps are nice because you can typically use from infancy on.

If there's a babywearing group near you, they often have lending libraries that let you try different ones and see what works.

  • I loved my boba for toddler age, and my wraps for infants.

You do not want to save the Baby K'tans in case you have another one ? I would love it if you do not want it.

Nope. I got it on sale for DH to use, and he didn't use it much. He's gotten new toys since then (including a framed backpack carrier--we're so fancy). And it's so nice of you to be optimistic that we'll be able to do it again!

PM me your info and I'll find it for you.

  • I would assume the moby would work and I puffy puffy heart it for the first 6 months... Then the ergo!
Married on 3.20.2004. It took 30 month, 2 failed adoptions and IVF for our first miracle. We have had 9 foster kids since he was born and started the domestic adoption process when he was 10 month old, we had 4 failed matches in that time. After our daughter was born we brought her home and spent 2 weeks fearing we might lose her because of complications that came up. But Praise God all went through and she is ours forever! • The moby is nice at first, and I used it alot for the first couple months. But then I got a ring sling and love it, it would've been great to have when he was little, and I wish I had it from the start because I think its easier and faster to get off and on then the wraps. They make them in different sizes, so I'm sure you could find to fit.

I recently got a boba 2G ssc and love it too, it can be used for babies 5-45 lbs, and great for heavier babies because it distributes the weight well. It's also super easy to get him in and out of. It's adjustable and made to fit people of all sizes, it's got a pretty long waist band, I'm not small and I have a lot of extra.

After 2years TTC and 1yr,2mo waiting for an adoption match, our blessing is here!
