Re: Trying to keep myself motivated.

  • Um, wow?! That's all the words I have. I am an organized person but NOT when it comes to the kitchen. My biggest problem is that DH would rather eat out 6 nights a week. And I don't mean good take out - Taco Bell, Burger King, Pizza, Pizza, Pizza, Taco Bell. Gross.

  • Wow I'm impressed!!  My breakfast consists of pop-tarts, toast, and cereal.

I usually cook 3-4 times a week but I wouldn't say I meal plan.  We keep our freezer stocked with meat so I can usually pull something out to grill or bake.

  • I meal plan dinner only - breakfast at my house is usually fruit and toast for ds, while I am running around getting ready.  And lunch for ds is a leftover from the night before or occasionally a sandwich.  My company we have lunch provided every day.  We meal plan out dinners because we found we were eating out too much and this way if we don't have to think about it every day we tend to stay home.  Also by posting  the menu on our fridge we think to take it out of the freezer ahead of time.  On Sunday after I grocery shop I prepare as much as I can head of time - like chopping veggies, marinating meat, so that it saves time during the week.

    Our menu this week is:

Sunday - Ham steak and broccoli

Monday - Parmesan chicken and roasted veggies

    Tuesday - Greek Salad

    Wednesday - Tacos

Thursday - Barbeque chicken sandwiches & salad

Friday - Fried rice bowl with broccoli and shirimp

Sat - we are at a wedding
