Weaning off bottles

In the process of getting my 16 month old off bottles completely. She currently still relies on one first thing in the morning and one before bed. Any tips/advice appreciated.
Also, my DS WILL NOT drink milk from a sippy cup. I have tried everything and she won't do it. She will only drink milk out of a bottle. My concern is that when she is off the bottle, she won't be getting sufficient calcium, she does not like cheese or yogurt. HELP PLS. TIA

Re: Weaning off bottles

  • Since my DD is not drinking WCM, I am doing two things instead:  (1) I am increasing dairy in her diet; e.g. see link. (2) Offering 1oz milk in a small glass (e.g. shot glass) which DD dips food into then sucks, and on occasion lifts up to "drink" (spill down her bib).  GL!

  • I'm having the same problem.

Someone suggested putting a teaspoon or less of chocolate syrup in a sippy with WCM, but don't know if I will try it due to the sugar, but its a suggestion if you are desparate.

How bout yogurt melts, string cheese, or mixing cheese in things- like in eggs or pasta.

Also you can try giving her milk from a cup.  DS likes to do this, but alot ends up on him.  GL!
