Hi there! I'm Heather... and I'm new. Obviously.

A little background!

I'm 23, married for 5 years. Yes, we got started early! Hubby is 3 years and one week older than me. I have wanted a baby practically since we were married. DH wanted to wait until I was at least 25. I had no trouble agreeing to this because I'm a vaginismus sufferer - so for a long time, babymaking was literally impossible for us. (I have since overcome - here's to a year and a half of pain-free sex! Hooray!) In any event, after we overcame vag, DH and I decided to bump up our TTC date to January 2013. Well! This past summer, DH was sent on an assignment in Japan for two whole months. My career prevented me from going with him, so we were apart from each other for about ten weeks total. When he came back, he had baby fever, so voila, here we are, kicking the BCPs as of next week!

So, officially, we are NTNT (not trying not to)... But I have a feeling we'll be actively TTC by next summer if nothing's happened by then.

And, let me just say this out loud once: I am terrified. TERRIFIED! I have no reason to believe I'll have fertility issues, but I'm just awful with handling disappointment and I really really REALLY want a baby, so of course my mind goes to the worst possible scenario I can come up with.

Whew! It was good to get that off my chest.

If anyone's interested, I'm a nanny, and I'm full of helpful advice/experience. So hopefully I'm bringing something to the table here!
