1st world problem....

pretty sure my washing machine just crapped out.  the whole thing is filled with water and I can't get it to drain.  I just had to wring out all DS' clothes/ sheets etc by hand and they have been in the dryer for 2 hours now.  talk about putting a damper on my nesting plans today!

anyone know anything about getting a washing machine to drain? I tried unplugging it and plugging it back in and it keeps making a humming sound.  I have tried changing the cycle as well with no luck..

anyone else having some 1st world problems today?

  • Yes, DH's daughter charged up $200 in international roaming charges on our cell phone bill.  Apparently, going to college does not mean that you know that Canada is a different country.

Made me feel really "first world problem" ish, because my first thought was, "Why do you not have free calling to Canada on your plan?!" Embarrassed

Haha...I would make her pay it back, but she is not my kid and DH won't so, I'm just kinda screwed on that.

  • I had the exact same problem/symptoms with my washing machine before - turns out, the hose that feeds into the drain pipe was pushed down too far in there and it wasn't able to drain all of a sudden. Might want to have your SO check that out when he gets home. GL!

This happened to us too. Try to move the drain pipe a bit and run just the final spin cycle. GL!

At least it wasn't from Tijuana, Mexico?

No good! Suggestion: If she has an iPhone or something with wi-fi, get her Skype. I live in Canada but am from the US so I am calling there all the time. I have an unlimited North America Skype to phone plan that's about $35 for the year. I just get on Skype from my iPhone and can call my friends and fam without it costing anything to my regular phone plan (when I'm on wi-fi).

But yeah, first world problem, indeed!

  • Another 1st world problem over here. I cannot get the DVR+ in my bedroom to show anything other than scrambled up shows and now it's doing the same thing with live TLC, HDTV,  and HBO. Cable company says there's a problem with the line, and they can't send someone until Tuesday. Since I've been watching hours and hours of Say Yes to the Dress and Love It or List It and had also planned on catching up on the Switched at Birth marathon on my DVR, I'm really cranky right now. I could watch in the living room, but I really need to lie down awhile before company is here in a couple of hours, plus DH is actually cleaning the living room right now (I think. ... I hope.)

This happened to us a few months ago as well. Try adjusting the hose and run only the spin cycle again. Good luck!!

Yes, we had that same thing happen to our washer.  My pregnancy brain is preventing me from remembering exactly what was wrong, but I do know that we had a repairman come in to replace a part and it was back up and running.
