college

Do you want your LO to go to your alma mater or your DH's alma mater?  Or do you NOT want LO to go there?

Re: college

  • I want her to go to college in the city we are living in at the time.  That way she can live at home and save money (like I did...no student loans here).  My parents did the same thing when they went to undergrad, so they were really cool about me going out and doing my own thing.

  • I would be proud if LO went to my alma mater because it's a good school, but I think I would rather she go away for college. That way she can live in a dorm and get the full college experience.

  • I will not pressure DS to go where DH and I went to college.  I think it would be cool, but I'm definitely more concerned with wanting to go to college, period.

As long as he goes to college, I'm cool.  That's all that really matters to me, is that he gets an education.

  • If she does, great. If she doesn't, great. I don't have a particularly fond affinity or disdain for it, so I really don't care one way or another.

  • NO! I hated my college. DH's was kind of a joke school, so no to that too. I hope she goes somewhere that she fits in and likes.
  • DH didn't go to college (Air Force) and I went to a CC...I want my kids to decide where they want to go :) And my choices aside, we most likely won't live where I went so it isn't really an option.

  • If she wants to go to either one, great.

    If not whatever.

I'm not pushing it either way. Doesn't matter to me. Whatever makes her happy.

I never got all wrapped up in the college thing. College is college to me and it's more about where you fit in than the name.
