April 2012 Moms

I guess I have to go back to carters.com and get some winter stuff!

Cuz DH's Mom just rescheduled her wedding due to some crazyness, so I guess we're flying from warm SoCal to freezing MN in early Dec! What do I need to get for a short visit clothing-wise for myself and DS? I don't even have a winter coat ;) Just a peacoat that can withstand Oregon/Washington style "cold" ;)

  • It could be 40 below or 60 above. If you aren't used to it, you will probably need a winter coat mittens and a scarf. I would say no boots unless you will be doing a lot of outdoorsy stuff.

To quote DH "We will be entering through the garage and not spending any time outdoors" - hahahah! I am def. not used to it. Ooh, I forgot about the scarf. Duh! Thanks :)

  • It's true--January is generally WAY worse than December, so it really could be OK when you're here.  I wouldn't buy a winter coat just for a weekend in MN, unless the wedding is outside (now THAT would be crazy)!!  Wear the peacoat and walk briskly.

You could always get a Once Upon a Child winter coat for LO when you get here...definitely a warm hat and warm shoes/slippers for baby.

  • I'd wait until closer to the time to see what the weather is going to be like.  Our winter here in MN was pretty mild last year, so it might not be all that cold.   You could just dress in layers with stuff you already have, rather than buy a winter coat.
