DS was born at 35 weeks. DS is now 2 and half yrs old.He has had a decent amount of health problems and was diagnost with immune disorder. I hope it is okay to come here and ask a few questions. I am mostly a lurker on this board. Should I be concerned that my son does not like being given affection? Also a couple of people have been telling me they think he is ADD. Is it possible for them to have it at this age? He also gets very upset when he lines up his cars playing (that is how he likes to play) if you put one backwards or take one out of the line ect.Should I be concerned? Are these signs? My DH worries about it also. T&A Thanks ladies.
Re: Need some advice please?
Why are people saying they think he has ADD? Did you mean ASD (autism spectrum disorder)? Some kids with ASD like to line up cars, and get upset when you move things out of the order in which they placed them. But simply doing this does not mean he has ASD.
If you and/or your husband have concerns about development and behavior, I would reach out to Early Intervention/Birth-3 and schedule an evaluation with them. And do it soon, because once he turns 3, anything will have to be done through the school district.
They were saying ADD because he has so much energy they said. I also forgot to mention that doesn't like dirt or his hands getting dirty. Is this probably something that is just personality or could it be something more?
Here's a link to our FAQ page in case you haven't seen it before. There is a post on Early Intervention and another on Autism First signs.....
