I just found out that my middle sister is hurt because we didn't invite her to the twins birthday party, but we invited my dad and step mom.  There is a bunch of reasons why not to invite them, but it really comes down to one.  We just couldn't afford it.  DH has a large family so there was like 16 adults.  The thing is that she did't tell me she just told my step mom.  I guess I should have invited them I just didn't see reason.  She is not close to the girls yet and it was an event on DH's side.  Plus if we invited them then maybe we should have invited my step aunts who always invite us to the parties.  If we invite my step aunts then we would have to invite about 30 other people so they don't get butthurt (my new favorite word).
