Two Under 2

monitors

do you have baby monitors in each child's room?  we have a regular one (sound) for dd, and i'm thinking we need to purchase another for ds.  we'll move to nyc next year and they'll be sharing a room.  i'm leaning towards buying a video monitor so i can see that dd stays in bed and isn't terrorizing ds.  thoughts???

Re: monitors

  • I had a sound monitor with DD but, when I looked into models for multiple rooms, I found they are pretty much all video.  I ended up going with a Summer model.  If you need 2 rooms, that's probably your best option.  If you are going to hold off on that and wait until they are sharing, I think your idea is a good one.  I would want to see what's going on in there ;0)

  • There is one monitor out there that comes with two monitor parts for two different rooms, and then the receiver switches between the two every 30 seconds or so.

When we had two monitors, we used one analog and one digital.

  • We are going to be having our kids in two separate rooms. I currently use the summer infant baby touch monitor (video) and I like it. I plan on getting an additional camera for LO's room so I can pan from room to room.

FWIW, I like having the camera facing DD's crib at night so I think I would get a second camera even if they were sharing a room.
