I have an ultrasound next Wednesday at 15 weeks 3 days and my doctor told me that there is a good chance that we will find out the sex at that appointment. I am excited about possibly knowing without the pressure of everyone else knowing that we know. That way we can react without an audience and tell people when we are ready.
I have not really received advice from people, but a friend of mine was like " I have Aton of pregnancy books if you want to borrow them!" which kind of rubbed me the wrong way even though she was trying to be sweet. I already know what happens because I read every one of those books and gave birth just a few months ago.
I am in a good place mentally right now, but the ultrasound on Wednesday is kind of looming over me. They were able to spot Avery's condition at 18 weeks, so I feel like this next ultrasound could be far enough along to see complications. I'm just praying that this is my rainbow.
Eta: I forgot to add a book! My favorite book ever is I'll Love You Forever. It makes me cry every time.
My angel Avery- 2/16/12, My rainbow Blake= 3/4/13, Joyfully awaiting #3 5/11/15
How far along are you? What size fruit is your baby this week?I am 11 weeks 5 days, so a lime going on a plum. Do you have any upcoming appointments or milestones? We just had an appointment this morning. We have our next one in just 12 days thankfully. I am usually okay the 1st week after an appointment, but during the 2nd week I start flipping out. Even before my spotting episode that sent us to L&D, I had already freaked out a few days before that just worrying that something is going to go wrong. QOTW: Have you ever gotten any unwanted advice about pregnancy or labor as though you have never been through it before? No. I think my loss was so early that it wouldn't be that inappropriate anyway. I actually wonder a lot how similar to labor at full term my labor was. I especially wonder how the pain compares because ideally I'd like to go natural, but the pain I was in a few hours before I delivered was bad. I keep thinking the pain must be worse with a full term birth, but there's no way I could take hours of even worse pain than that. Open Topic. What is on your mind this week?Well as I posted on PgAL, we had our first trip to L&D already for spotting. Hoping that is it until full term. We also had another appointment today with a nurse practitioner rather than our regular OB. I usually like NPs better than MDs, but not this time. My wife and I both left the office saying, "I refuse to every have an appointment with her again." There was nothing she did that was totally horrible. She just rubs me the wrong way and I really think she doesn't read my chart before having appointments (this was the second--and last!--one with her.) GTKY: What is your all time favourite book to read?Maybe The Handmaid's Tale.
BFP #1 9/21/11. EDD 6/4/12. Twins discovered at 8 weeks. Twin B lost at 14 weeks due to megacystis. Alice Joe born and lost 1/5/12 at 18.5 weeks due to pre-term labor.
BFP #2 7/11/12. EDD 3/23/13. Ada Alice born 3/20/13.
How far along are you? What size fruit is your baby this week?I am 5 weeks & the baby is the size of an appleseed:-) Do you have any upcoming appointments or milestones? My first appointment is on the 18th and I am hoping that everything goes well! QOTW: Have you ever gotten any unwanted advice about pregnancy or labor as though you have never been through it before?I haven't gotten any advice yet because nobody knows yet. Open Topic. What is on your mind this week?I am super nervous about this pregnancy and I am just keep thinking about the long road ahead. GTKY: What is your all time favourite book to read?I love to read anything by Jodi Picoult...My Sister's Keeper was my favorite!
