Sharp pain when I stand up..

This is the second time in a week this has happened. I tried to get up form the couch and I get this sharp sharp pain in my stomach on the lower left side. It happend a few days ago as well. I had to lay down for a few minutes before it went away. Any idea what it is? It feels like a muscle is being pulled.

    Sounds like round ligament pain and/or constipation.

    I've been getting that too and I'm only 11 weeks. It feels like a charlie horse cramp in my abdomen. Very painful.

    Welcome to round ligament pain, which usually feels like a sharp stabbing or twisting pain in your lower abdomen. 

    I had tons of RLP until about 22 weeks when the girls shifted back some and my sciatic nerve was on fire. Now, they have shift front and right so my sciatic nerve is good, but something running down the front of my right thigh is about to snap.  

    Single Mother by Choice. Life didn't work out the way I planned so I did it on my own. IUI #s 1-3, unmedicated = BFN, IUI #s 4-6, 50mg Clomid, Ovidrel = BFN IVF #1: 23R, 20M, 17F. 5 day transfer 2 blasts. 2 Snowbabies BFP 6dp5dt, Beta #1 7dp5dt = 58, Beta #2 9dp5dt = 114, Beta #3 10dp5dt = 187 1st Ultrasound = 5/3, not much to see yet. 2nd Ultrasound = 5/17, TWINS!!! Hospital Bed Rest at 32 weeks due to pre-ecclampsia and severe edema. Audrey Grace, 5lbs9oz, & Lydia Louise, 6lbs, born via emergency c-section on 12/6/12 at 36w1d My IVF Journey

    Sounds like round ligament pain, especially as you describe it as low and to the side. I have it on R and L sides, all the time. Be careful with sudden movements- you might notice the stabbing pain with sneezes, quick movements, etc. Try to get up slowly and support your belly.

    I get this every so often especially if I get up too quickly. I asked my OB about it at my last appt and she told me it was RLP.

    RLP is awful! It always took my breath away. Hope it eases up soon!
