WDYT of Milo?

If we have a boy we are probably going to go with Levi but I can't help but keep looking for last minute names I might like better. I came across Milo today and I like it.

My concern is that it won't age well, the name would be super cute on a toddler but I don't know if I can picture a grown man named Milo. Dh already vetoed Miles so that's out as a Fn.

Also, Dh and I went to school with a popular spanish kid named Milo pronounced mee-low, I worry a little that people I went to school with might assume this pronunciation and think it was odd we chose this name? Or is the name well known enough that pronunciation wouldnt be an issue.

Wdyt of the name Milo?

  • I don't think it's a bad name but I think of Milo and Otis everytime I hear it!

  • I like Milo, but I love Levi.  So sticking with Levi gets my vote.

  • I think Milo is great, and better than Levi in my opinion, but of course, that's only personal taste. Milo does sound youthful but not designated only for a toddler. I have a friend who just named her newborn Arlo. Theo has another similar feel. I like the vibe of all of these names.

  • It totally reminds me of Milo and Otis, too... but I still love it! I think it's a cute name and I do think it would age well. It's different enough to be unique but not totally out there.

This. I love all boy names that end in O, and I feel like Levi is too common for me these days. I vote Milo. :)

  • I wouldn't worry about what the people from school thought.

That being said I prefer Miles much more over Milo. I think Miles ages better.

If Miles is out of the question then I would choose Levi.

  • I really like it.  Since it's an ancient Greek name and I'm a geek about that stuff, I think it will age well, and I don't think pronunciation should be a problem.

  • It's in our top two right now. I love it. There was a guy on Heroes whose real name is Milo and one of the bands my H really likes has a member named Milo.

  • I love Milo. I honestly like it better than Levi, but if you and your husband have agreed on Levi, it might not be fair to try to spring a new name on him.

We haven't really agreed on Levi, other than we've said we both like it. He's not really too interested in discussing names, he told me to come up with 3 of each to take to the hospital and we will decide together once baby is born, so it's fair game. :)

  • I love it. It's one of two names that my boy will most likely be. I've asked about it here and got decent feedback. A few said it reminded them of a dog but I feel like human names on animals are common nowadays.
