Best cheap umbrella stroller

We are getting a Chicco Key Fit stroller and a BOB jogging stroller.  But I also want an umbrella stroller for the short trips when they outgrow their infant seat but I don't want to bust out the BOB.

What are you recommendations for a cheaper but sturdy umbrella stroller?

Re: Best cheap umbrella stroller

  • We have a 1st Years Jet I believe.  It was about $40-50.  We love it!

  • We have the cheap BRU one. I think it was $30.

  • Whatever you end up getting, make sure you try it out first. We have use 2 cheap ones and they are both far too short to push.  My mom at 5'-6'' can't push either comfortably.

  • There's cheap, and then there's cheap. In my opinion, you get what you pay for, especially when it comes to strollers! We had a cheap ($20) umbrella stroller and the wheels were crap, it wouldn't push in a straight line. I also had a cheapish ($100) jogging stroller, that was also crap. My two favorite strollers have been my Graco travel system stroller, which has now lasted through 4 years and two kids, and my double Joovy stroller.

  • Jeep brand from walmart they have a "nicer" version for 60$ and a cheaper version for 30$ I got the 60$ one on sale and I love it.

  • We love our contours lite. Got it because it is recommended by consumer reports. I have zero complaints.

We have this in Black. It is awesome! The storage underneath is suprisingly large and it's sturdy enough I can hang my purse or a couple shopping bags on the handles without any worries.

I also agree. We have this stroller and love it. I use it all the time.

  • I do not post much but have to say that we have a jogger and wanted something smaller to leave in the car and take places where the jogger would not be practical. I got the chicco liteway and LOVE it! It is comparable to a maclaren and I personally think it is better! the front wheels are a bit bigger and swivel as well as lock. It also goes down completely flat which is great when DD falls asleep in car, I can take her out, lay it flat and she does not even wake up. It is lightweight and I can fold it up by myself while holding baby and diaper bag. The quality is also excellent and it handles very well even on grass and gravel. The umbrella shade is large and has a tinted peep visor and it comes with a cup holder so you would not have to purchase that separately. The underneath storage is great and it can even be removed and used as a backpack. It has a bunting segment attached which worked out great when it started to drizzle while on a walk, I was able to cover DDs legs and the umbrella segment covered thre rest of her. I highly recommend this stroller, one of the best purchases I have made for price and quality. It is around $135 at BRU but you can use a 20% coupon. I am not sure where you live but if you have burlington coat factory with baby depot in your area it is $119 there and you can find a 15% off coupon in any parents magazine.  Hope you find the best stoller to fit your needs!

I have this too, and I like it.  I got rid of our Britax B-Ready since it was getting too bulky and bought the liteway last month.
