Maalox to prevent nighttime gas?

Does anyone give their LO Maalox to prevent nighttime gas? I posted yesterday about DS not burping properly then waking up with gas pains and today the pediatrician's office recommending giving him maalox after his evening/nighttime feeding to help with gas and any reflux he may have.

I could see it helping with reflux but not sure about gas.
