I'm wanting to read up on BLW before my little one is ready. For beginners, do you recommend the "Baby-Led Weaning" book or the "Baby-Led Weaning Cookbook" or both? TIA!
I just read the "Baby Led Weaning" (not the cookbook). I never really cooked much specially for him, just learned what was suitable to give him from what we were eating.

I enjoyed the cookbook. I think it has all the same info as the book but in a more condensed form. (I haven't read the book though) I enjoyed having the recipes just because I always like trying new recipes. I didn't feed her food just from the cookbook, but it was great for new ideas.
I've read both, and honestly, I didn't find either all that informative outside of what I've read on TB regarding BLW.
Most of her information is pretty common sense, i.e. watch salt and processed foods, and a lot of the tips I've read here. Get it from the library, I don't think it's necessary to own the book. I've never found myself wanting to refer back to it.
None of her recipes were overly appealing to me so I didn't make any of them. We just feed LO what we are eating, minus safety hazards like honey or nuts. I have been cooking since I was a child, but if you're not as comfortable in the kitchen you may find it more helpful.
IMO the most important tip I've read re: child feeding is that as the parent you are responsible for offering varied and healthy foods, the child is responsible for what and how much she eats. I think BLW follows that philosophy well in that you aren't noting #of jars consumed, you are letting the child explore her food and eat what/if she wants.
Thanks, everyone! My library doesn't have either books, and I'm too impatient to request them and wait, so I went ahead and ordered the cookbook. I'm looking forward to exploring the recipes!

Try the library, too.
