1) That tickle in my throat...yeah it is really a full blown cold now.
2) I have been looking into Chicago for a MW GTG....anyone else??
3) I have a new kind.le case now and I love it! Definately more me than the generic, basic black one A bought me years ago....it is pink
4) My friend J downloaded an app on my phone that remotes me into his server where I have access to his entire music library. As a DJ it is quite extensive! I am uber excited about this...
5) Ky and I had family pics done on Saturday and they turned out really good. I could not resist buying one of the extras of just her...too cute!
6) Ky and I are going to do something on Saturday after tumbling: zoo, children's museum, aquarium. Which one is up in the air depending upon weather.
7) I am making stuffed peppers (in the crock pot) for dinner tonight, yum!
8) My phone had some glitch that stopped my touch screen from working most of Sunday night. I refused to spend my day off on monday at Sp.rint especially since it started working again by morning. I think I am goign to have one of my friends see if they can fix it first.
9) The popcorn festival is this weekend. I am going to be buying copious amounts of french toast popcorn.
10) These new cough drops I bought on my way to work are gross.
1. Tuesdays after a long weekend are always rough. Especially so since I'm in the office and not at home.
2. But its September and I'm more then a little excited about that!
3. There is something so great about turning over that calendar page. And autumn starts this month! My favorite.
4. Lots to look forward to: visit with my Uncle and Aunt in Maryland then Color Run in DC this weekend, Lehigh game the following weekend, then a visit with two sets of friends, and the last weekend of the month is the Celtic Classic.
5. I'm making a mental to do list for the fall... playing football outside in the leaves with my little family is definitely on there. Beef stew is on there too.
6. I'm sure you've probably all seen this by now, but my brother got engaged this weekend! I'm so so so excited for him. They are the sweetest pair.
7. Camping this past weekend really pushed home for me how much I dislike where I am with work. Its so hard to be back in the office today. I really need to change something, but feel completely stuck.
8. Gwen didn't nurse either of the mornings when we were camping... and she put up a lot less of a fuss then normal this morning when I cut her off after only a minute or two per side. Beginning of the end of morning nursing?!?! ::fingers crossed::
9. We had some painting done in the office this past weekend. It looks... well, not at all as planned. I actually find it pretty cringe-worthy. Ugh.
10. Okay, off to get some work done!
Maybe I don't have a heightened sense of smell, but I've never smelled any vagina on my pants. -- TSD
1. Iz got a nosebleed this morning, yuck. I don't do well with blood.
2. Apple has started fighting all sleep times, the amount of crying is nuts and she is exhausted, WHY WON'T SHE JUST SLEEP!?!?
3. On a happier more, she took 8 steps on Saturday.
4. A's Dad is proving to be a douche, he doesn't take time for her on his weekends and has his gf do things with her while he relaxes at home.
5. Our garage was broken into on Sunday evening while I was home alone with the kids, I had no idea until J came home from work asking why it was open. Police searched the garage and entire property with pistols drawn, it was like watching an episode of Cops.
6. I have a lot of signs of perimenopause, I'm only 30 but both my Mom and Aunt had hysterectomies at a young age because of related problems. I need to get my hormones checked.
2. Kids started first grade today. They are thrilled to be back with all of their friends and ran off with nary a "good-bye!"
3. I am having serious anxiety over homework. It is such a battle with Carter - tears, tantrums, etc. I don't know if it is just that he is so exhausted when he gets home or there is an underlying cause to his protests.
4. My work husband and I have planned to do happy hour for a few months now but haven't found time to do it. Now 2 of the doctors I work with are coming. I can't decide if that is going to be fun or awkward - especially since we were planning on doing happy hour at a gay bar.
5. My kids have woken every morning this summer by 6:30am. Yesterday morning they slept till 7:45am and this morning I had to wake them at 6:45am. Sheesh.
6. L is getting back on the school/away all weekend bandwagon. Time to start finding stuff to do to be busy all weekend. Thankfully, finding stuff in the fall isn't too difficult - but I miss doing that stuff with L and I know she misses doing it with us.
7. I wish I could find more gay parents with school aged kids. There are a lot of playgroups for LGBT families in our area, but they are primarily attended by parents with little kids (3y and under.) I know that once kids are older, their primary friends are from school/sports, but I also want them to have some friends with same-sex parents.
8. I found out that I don't have to share my office with anyone. Phew.
9. Despite having 44 missed calls while I was gone, I only had 9 voicemails. YAY!
10. Environmental Services cleaned/waxed my floors while I was gone! They are so shiny!!!
1. Iz got a nosebleed this morning, yuck. I don't do well with blood.
. 4. A's Dad is proving to be a douche, he doesn't take time for her on his weekends and has his gf do things with her while he relaxes at home.
#1: I got nosebleeds ALL of the time when I was younger. I have blood vessels (sp) close to the surface of my skin. They look like reddish/pink freckles all on one side of my face. They actually barely break the surface of the skin inside my nose. I could sneeze wrong and it would bleed. Used to freak my teachers out lol! I was just so calm though like no biggie happens all the time even at the age of 5/6. I eventually got one side cauterized to lessen the bleeds. I still get them to this day but no where as bad or frequent as when I was little. I guess that experience totally numbed me to the whole blood thing.
#4: I have recently discovered that if I ask a question about what Ky did/ate/napped/ when she is with A for a longer period of time, A lets her new gf answer. Really you cannot remember the last time your kid ate or if she napped today? Get a grip. I have been told flat out by her gf that she is the one that gets Ky ready in the mornings A has her.
3. This means I have 3 weekends free this month - two with out of town guests and one that we'll go visit my family.
4. I'm seriously looking toward hopefully ttc in 2013.
5. C's on-board.
6. Now we just need to work out the steady income thing.
7. Today I'm working on an application for what could be an amazing PT job for me, in addition to my current work, but without births.
8. I'm phone banking again tonight for our local marriage ref. I was nervous for my first shift last week, but it went well so I'm looking forward to tonight.
9. I also start a week of overnight work tonight. It may be a bit rough, but it's going to be worth it. And it doesn't hurt that I'll be spending them with a teeny tiny baby.
10. This Thursday is the anniversary of my juice feast. I'm thinking of doing a short juice cleanse, perhaps 3-7 days, just to mark it.
Met 07/07/05, Wedding 07/07/07, Legal Marriage Ceremony 12/9/12, Baby Boy Born 08/09/13
2) ugg gotta get ready for LV PRIDE and our FAMILY KIDS ZONE lots of work !
3) everyone is having babies.. especially baby boys- makes me a bit sad but so happy for them
4) Girls are SPAZOIDS
5) found a baby sitter we so far like ..yay but i feel bad for leaving them and i feel bad for the sitter cuz sometimes these girls are trouble and I feel bad that its 1 vs. them
6)M and I went to a 80's pride kick off skate night and dinner last night. It was fun I was wearing my best DUCKIE get up ever.
7) was so nice to get out of the house.
8) im so hungry
9) friday stress test is a lil stressing me out i will go research some info on it now
10) is it the the weekend yet - and they need to make highchairs easier to clean
3. I am having serious anxiety over homework. It is such a battle with Carter - tears, tantrums, etc. I don't know if it is just that he is so exhausted when he gets home or there is an underlying cause to his protests.
i use to Nanny in HS for a fam their son had the same issue so he has a wind down period ( snack) when he got home from school and then home work. Which seemed to work- they also did homework in the AM and they was also successful but Mom said she really hated it because she was so busy in the am.
7. I wish I could find more gay parents with school aged kids. There are a lot of playgroups for LGBT families in our area, but they are primarily attended by parents with little kids (3y and under.) Start your own group ( i know you prob dont have the time) or do a meet up group. I know it takes time and energy but its so importnat. We run a group here and have same issue. Mainly younger kids which is great for us but we have lots of parents with 6-12 year olds and i feel they fall by the wayside so we try to make activities for diff levels its tough

he actually has a good bit of downtime because school is out at 3:30 and they are in aftercare at school till 5:15ish. They don't do homework during this time for kids under 2nd grade so it is all free play. Plus, we have a 40m commute home - so we don't get home till 6pm. I can't imagine him doing it in the AM. Getting him to get dressed is painful! I am hoping that with some maturity and a different teacher things will be better!

My posting did prompt me to post a message on the GLBT Family Meetup group discussion list. I will also send a post to the Rainbow Families listserve tonight when I have their information.
1 T ended up in the ER last week with vomitting and diarrhea. They didn't check on the baby, just rehydrated her and released her. I'm worried.
2 Today is the first day of school for the girls. They were marginally excited, but we were thrilled!
3 We went to a friend's wedding over the weekend and took the girls. We were pleasantly surprised at how well they did.
4 I love autumn and trees are already starting to turn!
5 On our way home this weekend we drove through Albany because that's our top pick at this point for future places to live. I'm thinking a place right next to the water would be nice :
6 Saw my hematologist this afternoon, and glad to report that I'm going back to appointments every 6 months instead of every 3!
7 I'd love an ice coffee right now. A very large iced coffee.
8 I am really upset with the foster care system right now. They don't seem to care about the welfare of these kids nearly as much as their convenience. I know it's not that simple, but I'm annoyed that we have to fight so hard for them when I thought the system was on their side to begin with.
9 I have only gotten two texts from T regarding her trip to the ER, and have sent her, oh I don't know, ten times that many asking detailed questions and suggesting she see the RE or the OB just to make sure the baby is okay. I'm annoyed that she isn't getting back to me. It's so hard to have my baby 1,300 miles away
10 I hope MH gets to go back to work soon, he is so ready for some adult interaction after being home with the girls for the last 7 weeks!

1. We had a really, really nice three day weekend as a family. We needed it!
2. DS has been TOUGH lately though! He does better when we're out and about, or in the care of others, but he's so tough at home, it can be hard to even get out the door.
3. Note to self: pack his lunch tonight, so it's one less thing for the morning
4. He is still sleeping now (3:57) and I so don't want to wake him! The break has been so nice!
5. I'm so tired. His sleep has been crap.
6. Some friends came over to play this morning, thank goodness! He was driving me crazy!
7. We leave on Saturday for a week on the Cape with DW's family. I am looking forward to it, but have a lot to pack. I'm trying to pace myself and do a bit at a time so I don't get too stressed.
8. Also my parents are having a yard sale Sat AM, and I'd love to be able to sell a bunch of stuff. We'll see if I get us packed in time to move on to yard sale prep.
9. Tonight's dinner is already made. Hallelu.
10. I wonder if DS might enjoy going to a dance store with me after nap to buy new ballet slippers? Hmmm....
1. This is my 21st day in a row of counting calories. Sadly, this is probably an all-time records for me :-P I'm getting better at tracking even if I go way over.
2. Friday's Crossfit was so tough that my glutes were sore all weekend.
3. I woke up this morning really wishing I had a job to go to - I am ready!
4. We had such a great weekend. Met Kari and E, great weather, played lots of Wii with my parents and sister, ate cherry fritters, Lady Baby laughed for the first time - so many good things.
5. I don't know how I can ever do enough for other people to pass on the amount of good fortune I've had in this life.
6. I really need to mow but the lawn is so brown and dead with just a bunch of brown dead weeds poking up. Mowing isn't going to make it look much better.
7. I put a "Yes on 74" (pro-gay-marriage) sign in our yard on Saturday and this morning I found it in the street a few houses down. I am choosing to blame the wind...
8. I'm not too picky about how other people dress but a woman just walked into the coffee shop wearing a black thong plainly showing under her tiny, white lace shorts. She's with her husband and small children. Mmkay...
9. I guess Labor Day is when my allergy season starts in this region? Back on the Allerclear (Costco-brand Claritin - $12 for a year supply).
10. I wonder what the next big thing will be when this salted caramel crazy finally passes?
2. And you know she's not your baby any more when she gives you a hug and a kiss and heads into the classroom with a wave...sigh.
3. E's dad is having drama and that pretty much makes him a jerk all the time, even during the simplest of conversations about our child...sigh.
4. A's birthday was Saturday and though I didn't get to see her that day, we made up for it yesterday by hanging out all day and making dinner and cupcakes.
5. A brings such a sense of calming realism to my life. She is so very articulate and sweet and good to me. And gosh she makes me laugh.
6. E and I had a very large weekend together with some camping, a concert and visiting with Leapgirl8 and family...SO much fun!!!
7. I need a weekend beach getaway...soon!
8. We are having temps going up to the 80s this week...crazy!
9. This has been a really good summer here after a few years of really crappy ones.
10. I need to get more focused at work...off to try!
1. I'm home alone. Poor V is working late.
2. Snuggling on the couch with two small dogs is making my cozy.
3. Can't.Wait.For.Autumn.
4. I have nine days left before I will know if I'm pregnant or not.
5. Patience, they say, is a virtue.
6. Sad to hear about Michael Clarke Duncan's death.
7. Lying on the couch reading with a bag of maltesers English chocolate malt balls is bad, bad news.
8. When V's mother starts a sentence with the words, 'Can I make a suggestion..' We both get tense.
9. We got a cat from a friend who is allergic to her rescue kitty. Love him! Hopefully he will end up being friends with our other cat.
10. I was reading about just how high risk pregnancies of multiples can be. Makes me a tad nervous.

1. preparing for 2nd at home insemination - mostly mentally as i was actually disgusted last time
2. at nearly 13 months P hasn't had any words yet, this friday is her home assesment - worried.
3. loving the cool weather today
4. i spent most of the day comparison shopping for a babyhawk oh snap after recently trying the baby bjorn original and deciding it could be more comfortable/ since P loved it so much we'd like it last until a higher weight limit - any suggestions would be very very welcome
5. velcro cloth diapers are far too easy for P to take off. she does it every time she gets the chance, and it usually hilarious but, as you can imagine there have been some incidents that have brought tears to my eyes... there are tears in my eyes lol
6. are we insane for planning #2? and am i insane for deciding to carry this time?
7. i wish i could find a baby and me tai chi class out there somewhere
8. i need local lesbian mom friends to connect with
9. D is having a crappy day at work
10. what should qualify as a hand me down or a give away (for a friend having a baby within the next few months) is harder than expected
1. When all was said and done, I think I worked more like a 10 hour day, but it certainly took up 12 hours of time.
2. C is out of town. We both tend to use time away from each other to catch up on work, and so that's what I'm up to this week.
3. C is away because she's visiting our donor for insemination. It feels weird to not be involved at all, but I needed to be in the office this week.
4. I really miss our Ann Arbor friends. We saw them last weekend at a wedding, and it was awesome, but it's also a reminder that it's hard to make good friends as an adult.
5. I'm going to make myself soup from a can for dinner, because it's 10:20 pm and I'm tired.
6. I need some serious time management help and I'm not really sure what to do about that.
7. That's about all I've got for today.
Same sex couple TTC with donor sperm. I am 35 and carrying. Endometriosis and DOR. AMH 0.5, AFC 5-8, FSH 7ish
1. It's 8:24pm and I would way rather be on this board than doing my Project Management homework...
2. K's sleeping in his swing, swaddled because he didn't really nap today. Hopefully he'll wake soon- or be woken for his bath and real bedtime... I feel bad to mess with his routine but he was crying nonstop.
3. We think he's starting to teeth (knowing it can take months for a tooth to show). He's drooling, biting, cranky, etc.
4. EV is unhappy at work and looking for a new job...It's a little nerve wracking, I really want what's best for her, but I worry about that this transition will mean for us.
5. We had a great weekend, Saturday we went with our "Due Date buddies" and their daughter A (now 10 weeks old) to the Scottish Games. Soooo much fun.
6. Sunday we helped EV's brother & sister-in-law get settled into their new place :-)
7. Sooooo tired.... Three hours or sleep last night... Thus I am behind on homework and not really motivated at all to do anything but eat cookies.
8. Took the dogs to the dog park after dinner and they had a blast, watching them play made it so worth it despite being tired.
9. K makes sounds like a goat when he's sleeping - its hilarious.
1. I walked the girls to their first day of school today!
2. And came home in good moods!
3. The K5 teacher looked at me like she should call social services when I suggested that in a few days, the girls could walk to and from school without me.
4. In two weeks, they will be 5 and 11. They will walk together. It is school policy that older kids go pick up younger sibs in their classrooms. We live two half-blocks away. (in other words--the school is around the corner) They cross one not-busy street. with a crossing guard. I will keep walking them for a few days or a week or two and see how much my presence is needed.... What do you think?
5. L's birthday is this Sunday. It's getting kind of lost in between the kids' birthdays. (August, Sept, Oct...) I got her some clothes today--boring, but necessary. And she doesn't have time to go. Sorry, honey.
6. Zucchini's first birthday party ever will be in one and a half weeks. I don't know when I will do the extras to make it special.
7. Groupon did a special for Starbucks. Coincidence?
8. I haven't ordered pics for my photo album in months, but just ordered more for biomom. It makes her really happy, and so I am happy to do it. I just need to figure out ways to also get my "wants" met.
9. All L really wants for her birthday is dinner with no kids. Anyone want to come for bedtime madness at the Erat house? We'll pay you in GS Cookies
10. There were extra cases of GS cookies sitting around the camp I was at this weekend. I ate a lot. With milk.
my allergies/sinuses are not loving me. Pumpkin is so pititful I am afraid his next word will be pitiful.

My boss has three kids - 11, 9, and 4, and she has her older kids "pick up" the younger kiddo and walk home...but she also gets the side-eye from some parents and teachers. I suspect you'll get double doubted as a foster parent, but I say go for it. Just have a backup plan for thunder/lightening/tornado warnings - I never would have thought of that part, but then again, I'm not a mom yet.

i so wish i could!!!
As for the walking to/from school - are there foster regs about that? our state says that foster children can not be unsupervised ever for any amount of time at any age. totally rediculous, but arent all the rules they come up with?
Ok so it's no longer Tuesday but I have had a rough couple of days.
1. I lost a good friend to addiction this weekend. He was an amazing person and I am heartbroken over this loss.
2. Having struggled with addiction myself, I know how hard it is to overcome it. I will never say beat it as it's something I feel I work on every day.
3. I am on day 5 of crock pot meals only in this house and it's working really well. Every night we eat I feel like I made this amazing meal when all I really did was put it in the bowl and hit on.
4. On the crock pot note, I was able to get 8 meals, stuff for lunches and breakfast, snacks etc for right at $100. This will easily last us two weeks.
5. I am working on money saving (living very lean) now so when the twins arrive we still have money for the things we love to do. I need to start my coupon-ing again.
6. M is currently looking for a new job. I feel guilty as I made a comment about possibly eventually staying at home. It's not so much to stay at home but to finish my degree in secondary education so my schedule will be more in line with the LOs. Now she is only looking for jobs that pay enough to make this happen.
7. On #6 I told her to find a job she will like and we can worry about the other later. I told her I really don't want to stay home/finish school until our car notes are paid off (another 2 years).
8. I met with an adviser at the college I will finish my degree at and got very pleasant news. I was able to shave 1 semesters off due to converting credits I already had to cover stupid things like electives. The only bad news is now student teaching is 4 days a week for half the semester instead of 2 days a week for almost the whole semester. This means I will not be able to work my current job while I student teach...
9. Did you know for $9 Wall.mart sells a box of 48 pop tarts!
10. I roll our loose change so we can take it to the bank, I sat down last night to do it as it's mindless. I must say it's exciting to count when you are all done!

2m2b - I am so sorry to hear you lost your friend. That sounds devastating. Take good care.
Thank you madisonpeas! It was just very unexpected with as well as he was doing with treatment. We are all at a loss but I am not disillusioned with the hold addiction has on people.
It's a sad realization that very few of the people who seek help with addiction will actually make it. It just goes to show how strong of a demon it really is.

9. We had some painting done in the office this past weekend. It looks... well, not at all as planned. I actually find it pretty cringe-worthy. Ugh.
10. Okay, off to get some work done!
Maybe I don't have a heightened sense of smell, but I've never smelled any vagina on my pants. -- TSD

7. I'm gaining weight again.
8. Owl, Owl, Owl... She is a miracle.
9. Speech therapy starts this week, I'm excited.
10. Life is good.
Two Mommies Healing Hearts
1. First day back to work in over a week. Ouch.
1. I had two births this week.
2. This means I'm off call until Oct!
1) i love short week !!!
2) ugg gotta get ready for LV PRIDE and our FAMILY KIDS ZONE lots of work !
3) everyone is having babies.. especially baby boys- makes me a bit sad but so happy for them
4) Girls are SPAZOIDS

Hmmm....
sahm ~ toddler breastfeeder ~ cloth diaperer ~ baby wearer
1. My baby went to first grade this morning.

10. I love reading everyone's posts...

Blogs: Our Growing Family - CT Working Moms
