TTC after 35

Please review my chart...

I think I need to go to the drug store & by a PT... Hmm

What are your thoughts?  Also, what is the best brand of PT to buy?

Re: Please review my chart...

  • If I remember correctly, you are new to charting, right?  It does look promising but it's hard to say since you don't have a bunch to look at and compare.  I would go buy some HPT's and start testing!  Good luck to you.  :)

PS I always buy a 3 pack of HPT's so I have some extras and I get whatever is the cheapest.  After 3 yrs of TTC, I can't afford to waste anymore money on the fancy ones.  :)

  • Yes, it is only my 2nd month charting.  When I overlap the charts - they are almost identical with the exception of the last 2 days.  My temp went back up instead of continually dropping.  I am having nausea and some other symptoms that are associated to being prego.  Going to the store & buying EPT after work.  Tomorrow is 14 days after O, so I will test in the morning.  Fingers crossed, at age 42, I know I don't have too many chances at this...

Oh my dear llama. How is it that you haven't been turned on to Wondfo's yet? You can't go wrong with 25 for $8.

Oh I don't know.  I guess month after month I was in such denial that I told myself I only need to buy HPT's one more time. Silly me..  :(

  • I may also be in blissfully optimistic denial, but I am also too cheap to go shelling out the big bucks for the FRERs and CBEs! In fact, when my RE's nurse/fertility coordinator told me that the only brand they recommended for OPKs was CBE digital, I just laughed and said "Yeah, no." She tried to tell me they're the only ones that are sensitive enough and I told her I had better luck with my cheapie Wondfos for a fraction of the price.

I big puffy heart my Wondfos.

I agree w/ Petra about holding off on the testing. I was all eager-beaver (ha! I just made an unintentional naughty pun) at first-- and my charts look fracking textbook w/ many triphasic months... and then I get AF and a BFN. So disappointing. And so many wasted tests. But if you need to get the POAS out of your system, then by all means-- test away! I'd still recommend the cheapies, though...

  • Hi Ladies, Thanks for the advise.  I waited until this morning - my temp was still up, so I tested (yup, I could not help myself - but it is only the first time I have tested LOL) and it was negative.  My first two months off the BCP were like I never took the pill - so I figured this would be another 25 day cycle like they were.  I didn't chart the first month because I was getting married, then our 2 wk honeymoon - I knew I would never keep up with the charting.

I guess I will wait another 5-7 days and if still no AF & temps are still up, I will use the other test in the pack.  I did go with a FR test & there were only 2 in the pack - the second test is a "gold" test.  I went with the mid-priced FR pt - the Gold pack was $20 something - this one (which I didn't know it had 1 gold test in it) was $18 & the FRER was $16.  This one did say it would read up to 6 days prior to your missed period.

I am still keeping my fingers crossed...

If AF comes I will be investing in the Wondfos - they are so much cheaper & the reviews are great...  Praying that I don't have too... :)
