I can't make a clicky poll but do you say "aunt" or "auntie"?
And do you pronounce it "ant(ie)" or "ont(ie)" if that makes sense?
My mother in law refers to me to my nephew as " your Ontie lw" with a really long o sound in front. It drives me bonkers.
Is it regional or is she just wanting too many British period films?
Re: S/o what to call aunts
I've lived in several different places where it's been said differently, so I say all of those things interchangably- ant/ont, antie/ontie.
I'm more prone to say "ont/ie", I think.
