So, tell us your story! How did you and DH (boyfriend, partner) meet? Or... How did you meet your best/closest friend?

Aw, how fun!  My husband and I actually met online. *blush* I had previously lived in my current town but was in Pittsburgh, PA at the time and in the process of packing up to move back home after a relationship that fell through and my mother back home becoming ill.  Some random guy from my hometown sent me a message on a dating website I'd created a profile on.  He didn't say much of anything, which was always a turnoff to me, but he slipped in a personalized one liner that let me know he'd actually taken the time to read my somewhat wordy profile.  

So I messaged him back and we emailed while I packed up to move home.  Three days after coming home, we met up at a local cafe and talked for hours till he had to go to work (second shift). I'd barely left the parking lot when he called me! He said, "I know this is kind of soon, but would you like to go on a second date?"  I was surprised but kind of liked how quick on the pace he was.  So I said sure and asked when.  "Tonight? When I get off work? I'd like to buy you a drink."  I agreed and we had our "second" date talking the night away again at a local hipster bar.  Two more dates later and we started dating exclusively. :-)

Hi-I haven't posted in a while but looking forward to getting back to it

H and I met at a bar. He came out to see a band with my cousin and her H....I had just started dating one of the guys in the band H and I talked all night and really hit it off. I figured out that he was the guy who kept staring at me at my cousin's party earlier in the summer. We all made a plan to meet a few weeks later but my cousin backed out. H called my office to ask me if I still wanted to go. I stopped dating the guy in the band so we started dating.

Moved in together after 1 year. engaged a year after that, married a year after that. Together 10 years today-married 7 years on 9/24.

I had recently ended a relationship and my best friend decided to cheer me up with a girls night out.  The bar we went to was really crowded, but there happened to be a table with only one guy and two empty seats. My friend is much more bold then I and she asked if we could sit with him.   Several drinks into the night my ex showed up with a new girl, I was so pissed that I told the guy at the the table to sit next to me and pretend to be my boyfriend.  

We ended up dancing all night and even making out on the dance floor.  SUPER TRASHY... not something I thought I would ever do!!!   We were a couple from pretty much that moment on.   *sigh*  I love him!  and the crazy start to our relationship!

My dh an I were friends in hs. His twin sister tried to set us up and we did go on one date, but it didn't go anywhere I got back together with my ex at that time. His sis was mad at me bc she wanted us to get married lol.

We went off to college and reconnected an fell in love the summer before we were seniors.

I used to be a HS band director in this small SE MN rural farming community. My DH is the older brother of my former student. He came back home on weekends to help play drums for my pep band gigs when I needed help. So I married my student's older brother!

We met in high school when we were sophomores.  We had a class together and then we both attended a mutual friend's birthday party and I just really liked him.  6 years later we were engaged, the next year we got married and now we have been together for 12 years, married for 5

DH and I originally met in HS - we sat next to each other in calculus. He did NOT talk to girls at the time, and I was in a different social circle than he was, so we were never friends, but I noticed that he always did a little better than I did on tests, and he carried Bible verses in his glasses case. I wasn't serious about God then, but I thought that was the kind of guy I'd want to marry, even if I didn't want to date him then!

We "reconnected" (not that we really connected before) on fb at the end of our sophomore year of college when he mistook me for a different Michelle M from our HS (nice, right?). We started messaging back and forth. During that time is when I decided to actually follow Jesus and felt strongly that I should move back home, since I didn't know any "good influences" in the city where I lived.

So DH invited me to his church; I got involved in his small group, and we started dating a little over a year after that - about 6 years ago. Married 3.5 years - yay!

My husband was roommates with my cousin. When he moved in he had a girlfriend and I was not looking for a relationship. We hung out watching games, going our for drinks, etc with my cousin and his friends for about 2 months and then all of a sudden he broke up with his girlfriend and professed his love for me. I was totally blindsided and had no idea.  Well, 7 months later we were engaged and married 1.5 years after that.  We just celebrated our 6 year anniversary.

DH went to HS with my cousin, and she introduced us via his website when we were seniors in high school. He used to help me with web stuff when I couldn't figure something out... So I guess you could say the our friendship happened because of HTML4. Ha! 

We were friends, mostly via AIM and our website forums for a few years while we each dated other people and went to college in different states. After college graduation, I packed up to move to Pittsburgh, 4 hours away from his home town. We met up for a baseball game, and realized halfway through that we had more than a friendship. He moved to Pittsburgh 6 months later, and we got married a year and a half after that. Just had our 5-year anniversary in June.

He chose the seat next to me on the first day of classes my sophomore and his junior year of college. I got there early and every other seat was empty and he came and sat with me. We were the only two upperclassmen in that class as we had both somehow missed that course our freshman year. He was interested from the beginning but I had another boyfriend at the time. He was patient and the friend I needed to let go of that relationship.

Dh introduced me to my bff as she is his bff's wife.

We were set up to go to homecoming together in high school :-P

We were just good friends until college, and then we started dating. We were together all 4 years of school, and then married after undergrad. Our 7 year anniversary will be this December, so I guess that makes it 11 years as a couple altogether. WOW, I feel old!!

We met on the first day of college, got engaged 2.5 years later and married in the middle of our senior year. We were part of a small honors college class of 14 so it was definitely awkward when people started to find out we were dating. When we got married our entire class, our director, advisor and a couple professors were at our wedding.  We've been together almost 7 years and will be married 4 years in January.

DH and I went to the same highschool.  He and his older brother were in my anatomy class.  His brother and I were lab partners and went to our school's formal together my junior year.  I sat in between my now-BIL and DH and DH and I hit it off!  We became best friends in the months that followed and started dating after that.

We met our senior year of high school.  We went to different high schools, but a mutual friend thought we were perfect for each other and introduced us.  We dated for 9 months until we went off to colleges in different states. We stayed friends, and after graduating we moved back to our hometown and started hanging out again.  It was quickly apparent that we were in love.  We've known each other for 15 years, and married for 8.    We still hang out with that mutual friend - she made all this possible!

My friend convinced me to go to her brother's friend's birthday party at a local bar.  Some weird kid I'd gone to high school with was there, and hitting on me pretty hard, so I found my friend to get away from him.  She was standing with a guy I'd never met, a friend of her bro's from out of town.  She introduced us, and I told him he was going to be my boyfriend for the night.  The next weekend, he drove from his place 4 hours away to take me on a date, and we decided to be exclusive.  7 months later, we were engaged, and a year and a half after we met, we got married.  We never even lived in the same state until we were hitched.

DH and I met our freshman year.  We were in the same dorm.  We've been together ever since (9 years now!) and married for five years in December.

 I met my best friend at work four years ago; she was hired the same time as me.  I thought she was super conceited and rude, but it turns out she's just painfully shy. It's funny how things work out!

Met my DH online in a chat room.  Met my BFF in nursery school.  We have now known each other over 40 years.

And.  One time.  At choir camp.

Yes, it is true!  I met DH at choir camp (a summer camp held at a music college for singers) when I was 15.

My roommate actually thought that DH was cute, so I figured I should be a matchmaker.  That didn't quite work out as we expected!
