Who's laboring on labor day??

Not me! (I guess the day is young and I'm TECHNICALLY term, but I hope to avoid having this baby until much closer to my due date).

But my friends think it would be hilarious to go into labor on the day so aptly named for childbirth.

So who's having a labor day baby?  (Or, since I guess we wouldn't hear from them, who's having labor day contractions?) Has anyone else been getting the "oh, going into labor on labor day - haha" spiel from friends?

I got admitted at 2:30am in Labor day so it looks like I'll be spending today in the hospital in Labor! Thank God DH got me out of town and made ne walk a TON. It worked :

I am sitting up with day 2 of the most obnoxious contractions and hoping they establish a rhythm soon. I am still on bedrest but I am tempted to end that and just get on with it at this point (but there is still a huge part of me that is trying to stick it out as long as possible to make it closer to my due date) since I made it past my doctor's goal of August 28th. 

Frick I dont know LOL I am tired and ready to get on with the show but my opinion changes by the minute I cant wait until my body and the little guy takes the decisions out of my hands! 

Haha, I can only imagine! All I've got is basic back pain keeping me up. But I can imagine how up in the air it must feel in your situation.

Once or twice at work, I've kind of nonchalantly used one of my lunch box ice packs on my stomach. Right by the belly button it will itch so badly that I draw blood from the scratching. I hope that the ice helps you out and you're able to get some sleep tonight.

I woke up at 1am with a really bad contraction, does that count?

Nothing since, but it's prevented me from falling back asleep.

So far, not me.  Planning on taking a long walk later today, but I don't get the feeling that today is the day.  Unless something really changes....no contractions or "igns" to speak of, just all the pleasant side effects like back pain, indigestion, etc. Currently, just awake with raging heartburn and indigestion I got from a sip of water.

I am having contractions and a hell of a lot of back pain. Nothing is orderly though, so I am just waiting for it to stop. I really want her to hold off a few more days so I can finish everything at work, but we shall see. 

I have been up for over 3 hours now because of this damn pain and I am about to go crazy!

No me, even though MIL and DH are convinced I will go into labor today. Today is DH and MIL's birthday, I'm ok with our little girl having her own birthday.

Ah, sweet itchiness relief! It hadn't occurred to me to try an ice pack but this is amazing!  I love you!

I would love to be laboring on Labor Day.  DH made several comments about how perfect that would be, but no indication that it's coming.  boo.

No luck for me either.   Maybe the day is still young and there is still time?? But, I doubt it.

I lost my mucous plug on Saturday night, started having some brown discharge yesterday, then started the bloody show last night...all this with some serious, but not timetable, contractions, make me wonder if I'll end up in LD today!

I hadn't had contractions for days. I was having some last night. Now, nothing. Still a week and a couple days from edd.

I did not get one comment about laboring on labor day. I was surprised.

That surprises me a ton! I mean, when my friends found out I was due in September, they almost immediately remembered that Labor day was in September and it's been a running joke all during my pregnancy.

A close family friend went into labor, and delivered on labor day on two separate occasions with her sons. Quite a coincidence!

Nothing happening here. I just feel uncomfortable and my scary stretch marks are itching...it is the grossest thing ever. I feel like my body has been taken over and ai may give up looking in the mirror until it's over. I can't imagine getting bigger!

Nothing going on with me.  DS has his first day of school tomorrow though, so I'm happy I'll be home to send him off on his first day.

Nothing here either. 

But DH is off golfing with his friends this morning, leaving me along with DS, but forgot to tell me he was going until yesterday.  So the little part of me that's annoyed with him wants something dramatic like my water breaking to make him come home from golf. 

I still have a lot to wrap up at work though, so it probably wouldn't be good for him to come early anyway.

I think we are about to head that way! Contractions woke me up a bunch a times last night and I had 5 in the shower this morning they are still going I'm trying to get some more time with DD before we "make like a fetus and head out." Luckily, we are only 5 miles from the hospital!.

HA! I WISH! I'm four days past my due date with absolutely NOTHING going on...oh well. Might as well enjoy the day.

I had really bad back pain last night and some contractions (I think- they weren't too bad). I had a heck of a time sleeping. But now they are all gone and back to normal.

DH is the worst culprit re: labor on labor day comments. He thinks it's hysterical. Now that it's here and nothing is happening, I think he's a little disappointed. haha.

This was our goal for the whole pregnancy im due on Wednesday so it would have been pretty cool to have been labouring on labour day.. but its still early,, no dice yet..

Not me. I had contractions last night every 5-7 minutes for about two hours, but I fell asleep, and they never woke me up again. I've also had some today - but not as close together. Aside from some soreness in my legs / lower abdomen - nada! I am on modified bed rest and I have an ultrasound and doctor's appointment tomorrow, so who knows if I'll get more news? Regardless, unless I develop pre-e or go into labor on my own,  I know they plan to induce me sometime in the 39th week - so only a couple more to go!

My family and I joked about that the whole time because today was actually LO's due date. "Wouldn't it be great if you went into labor on Labor Day... heheh *rolls eyes*" He had other plans and came out on the 16th, but he's enjoying his 40 weeks of gestation with a lot of napping today
