We have the names narrowed down and have a few combo's available. Wanted to know opinions. We like classic names, and I also would like to have a middle name. The mn Ann has been in my family for generations so I would like it represented somewhere.. but its not mandatory.
the names we love so far are:
Emily
Grace
Sarah
I can use them as first/middle names, etc. Im also open to other names.. just can't find the right combo, Emily Grace is beautiful to me, but then I miss out on using Grace as a first name and Im not sure how Sarah Ann goes.
please tell me your thoughts.. and share your other ideas if you have any... thanks!
Re: Twin Girl names
Hmmm.
Well, my favorites of the names you listed are Emily and Grace, and I've been trying to work out a way to make them both first names.
Grace Ann is okay; would it still be honoring the tradition to use Annabelle or Anneliese? Grace Annabelle is really pretty. Actually, just Grace Anna would work, too.
Emily Sarah works, but it's kind of clunky. Really, the best combination from those names is Emily Ann and Sarah Grace. I wish there was a way to make Grace work as one of the first names, though!
What about Sadie? It's a familiar form of Sarah. Sadie Ann and Sadie Grace both sound lovely.
I also like the idea of Anneliese. Love that name!
Of your options I like Emily Grace the best
Love Emily and Grace. Sarah is a little too bland for me.
Have you considered going through family names/names that are important to you as a couple to use as MNs? If you want to use Emily and Grace, (which I love!) you can always add generic MNs if it isn't too terribly important to you. i.e, Marie and names as such.
i love emily and grace
not a fan of sarah
i love emily grace
grace ann is nice as well
grace elizabeth
grace kathrine
grace maryanne
I love all three names.
In terms of Ann, I think Emily Ann has the best flow.
Grace is my personal favorite of the three, so I'd say Emily and Grace...but honestly, I don't think you can go wrong. Beautiful.
Of the names you mentioned, I'd do:
Grace Sarah
Emily Ann
I think those combos sound the best of the options. Have you considered Kathleen or Kathryn? Those sound good with Ann. Or... Margaret? Jennifer?
I like Emily Ann and Sarah Grace.
I like this idea, or just make sure each twin has a family name incorporated. We gave one of our twins a family MN (the other has a MN I'd been wanting to use for years) and I regret it since I think it does tend to give one twin a more special "connection" to family member(s) and the other might feel left out if they don't have that.
I like Emily and Sarah, what about :
Emmeline and Seraphina nn's Em/Emily and Sarah? They would be less common if that matters. I'm stealing PP's middle names.
Emmeline Joanne
Seraphina Annabel
Emily Ann and Sarah Grace is a really pretty combination.
Sarah Ann and Emily Grace is also very pretty.
thanks everyone! i love this board! I think Im settled on Emily and Grace. But I just started thinking about... how do I chose which one gets the family middle name? uugghhh. I dont want to give them both the same mn.. Is it first twin out? lol
Im sure Im making this harder than it needs to be but I just can't decide.
Why not give them the same MN? I know quite a few siblings that share the same MN. I think it's kind of neat, especially if the name has a strong emotional tie to the family. For example, one gal on my local board has 3 daughters and they all carry her maiden name- which has transitioned to a popular girl's name, as their middle names. I think it's kind of neat to have that shared between them.
That's what my husband says.... something I have to consider. I just never thought about it until recently. I don't have any sisters so I never thought it would be something Id do.
I like the idea of incorporating Ann into each mn but not making them identical. Each should have their own, especially when talking about twins. I know two sisters who have the same mn, as does their mother. They are adults but fight constantly and hate that connection.
Grace Annabelle
Grace Marianne
Grace Antonia
Emily Annaliese
Emily Anastasia
Emily Antoinette
1998 Ovarian Cancer Survivor. 7 Miscarriages: 6w, 13w2d, 4w2d, 7w4d (DD's twin), 5w. Failed Tubal after c/s (!!): 5w2d, 6w4d
My cousins are twins and I'd suggest giving them both a family connection, because as crazy as it sounds, with twins everything seems to become a comparison and even something as simple as who got the family middle name and which one is older can be used as a battle tool.
What about Emily Anne and Grace Anna (or Ana pronounced Ah-na)? Or maybe like some PP suggested and use Annabelle, Annalise or something with Ann in it? Or is there another family name that would mean something? Would your name work as a middle name for one of them?
immmediate thought... Emily Grace and Sarah Ann.
all beautiful names.
