I work 9-5 and nurse exclusively before and after work and at night. During my workday, I pump around 10 and 2 and get about 4-5oz each pumping session.
depending on the age of your baby (i hate the new nest tickers) but if he/she is younger than 3 months old you really should be pumping every 2hours. until your milk regulates. trust me you will get a lot more. its a pain but that is what you have to do if you are EPing. Around the clock-
yeah with a two week old you will definitely need to be pumping more. its very hard in the beginning to pump especially with a new one who wants to be cuddled and never put down. try putting baby in a bouncy seat or do tummy time with baby and sit on the floor a pump.
try breast massage and compressions when you pump. and try power pumping, pump for ten minutes, ten minute break, pump for ten minutes, etc. for one hour. that will help jump start your supply.
BM is based on supply and demand. the more times you pump/nurse the more milk you will make. but the milk needs to be taken out of the body to signal the body to make more. GL! I have pumped for 5.5months so far and it TRULY gets easier. Around week 12 you can move to pumping every three hours.
