Hi,
My daughter (14 mo)was such a great sleeper her first year but now all of a sudden when it is time to go to bed, she SCREAMS her head off, stands up, does not want to bee held, tries to get out of her crib. This has been going on for a few months and we have tried everything. We keep a night time routine, tried baths, tried CIO (she's the type where when she starts crying she gets even more upset and becomes more alert), placing my hand on her chest but not making eye contact, staying in the room, leaving the room etc.. Basically I have attempted every peice of advice thrown my way. Her pediatrician said it's ok if she cries for hours but frankly I rather have her up playing for an extra hour than screaming in a room by herself. Any advice on this is appreciated. Thanks!
Re: Anyone ever been through this and overcome it?
Our little guy is the same age right now he is having trouble due to teething. However I don't have too much in the way with advice but our little guy goes to bed only when tired be it 7:30 or 11 we are flexible we keep the house quite from 930 on if he is still awake so no tv, lights turn of and we walk around. I still breastfeed so I figured do if I get my husband to try to get him to sleep he will start fussing then I come in he eats and often goes to sleep.
Is she just learning to walk or learning something new kids have a hard time sleeping when their brain is figuring stuff out so if she's concentrating on learning certain things like walking or crawling, holding the cup she keeps dropping but really badly wants to drink from it herself etc no matter how big or small if it's a milestone in her mind it can cause sleep issues. Like when we have things on our mind at night.
Just thoughts hopefully something here may help
