Batting at things?

Is anyone's LO starting to bat at things (toys, mobile, etc).  The pedi said that she would, but I'm not sure if her motions are intentional or not at this point so I wondered if anyone else's LO is starting to swat at toys?

Re: Batting at things?

  • DS is, but I am not sure it is 100% intentional. He knows he controls his arms and hands (LOL) however, he's still not sure how so it's kinda funny to watch him try to figure it out.

  • My son is as well. Sometimes it's without intention but other times he smiles and laughs so I think he's getting the hang of it.

  • She is. Most of the times it is intentional.

  • He's just starting to reach out for it...He likes to stare at it and talk to it more, though.
  • Yes! He loves his activity matt with the hanging toys.

  • DD only started to a couple of weeks ago, really. She's now also interested in touching the toys that we have set up on the changing table. Her movements are still really awkward and poorly controlled, though, so she can get frustrated pretty easily and doesn't do well on the activity gym for too long.
