Gablegurl Update: We went to Grand Rapids (40 miles from our home) for our specialist appointment
this morning. The Dr was sounding very positive until we kept giving her
more details of my hospital stay. Once she got all the information she
said we should really do the amniocentesis where they inject blue dye
into the affected baby's sac, then wear a tampon for an hour to see if it leaks (to see if the baby's sac is indeed still leaking). Despite the risks of this process, she said
the risks of not doing it were greater. So, I had it done, and it was
NOT enjoyable. Then you sit for an hour to see if you "leak" blue dye.
If I did, I'd be hospitalized, if not continue monitoring as we have
been. After an hour, no leaking. Yes, this is "good" news our nerves
aren't calmed much (yet). I'm very uncomfortable tonight with cramps (which they said would be expected). Not very bad, just enough to be annoying. So...we're trying to take these results as positive and keep on trucking but anything medical with me is never easy (despite my fairly good health). But we're trying. On another note, my boobs have been SO itchy and...almost hot to touch. Does anyone else get this?
