S/O stretch marks

Does Mederma for stretch marks really work? I wanted to buy some, but had no idea it was like $30 for a little bottle.. So I figured, if it actually helps at all, I'll buy it. But if it doesn't do anything, I'm not gonna waste the money.

So has anyone tried it and gotten any positive results? Is it worth it to buy?

And if you've found anything else that works really well, pleeease tell me what it was! Obviously if there's any way to even fade these beasts I might as well try it :)

Re: S/O stretch marks

  • i use palmers cocoa butter lotion. they have one specifically for pregnant women with stretch marks. seems to work ok for me. its def reduces the color of them. i have not tried mederma...so im not sure how it works. but thats crazy expensive! i paid $7.00 for my lotion and havent had any problems with it. plus it makes my skin super soft.

  • I have no experience with Mederma for stretch marks, but I will say that I used regular Mederma after my knee surgery years ago and you can barely tell that I have scars. I'd like to think all of their products work that well, but I honestly don't know. See if you can find customer reviews online maybe?

  • I swear I was thinking about posting on this exact topic last night.

I have angry red stretch marks all over my boobs and nowhere else... and I really would like them to calm down!

  • I got crazy stretch marks with DS and tried everything under the sun (cocoa butter, BioOil, mederma, etc.) Basically nothing other than time and patience helped them to fade.  As a matter of fact, I still have a few that have a pink tone to them instead of that "silver" look they will have once they fade.

  • Honestly, yes.

I was using some very expensive stretch mark cream the whole time and then I started getting some on my boobs. I decided to try the Mederma stretch mark cream, and I can honestly say my boobs look so much better! The color of the marks faded within a week of using it, and now you can hardly tell. I'd say buy it :)

  • I was lucky and only got small stretch marks with my first pregnancy.  I bought 2 bottles of the Mederma stretch mark cream but probably only needed 1.  (Saving the 2nd bottle for any stretch marks from this pregnancy.)  The hardest part is remembering to re-apply throughout the day when you have a newborn to take care of.  I recommend that you start using the creams as soon as possible (after baby's born of course) and set reminders in your phone so you remember to re-apply.  The stretch marks will naturally fade on their own but I feel like this helped and didn't mind spending the $ to make me feel better. You just created a human...go ahead and do something nice for yourself and spend the extra $. Smile
