I guess it would depend how many hours per day they are spending at school. My son was potty trained a year before preschool started but still did not poop on the potty, but the likelyhood of him going poop in that 2 and a half hour window 2 x a week was very slim anyway. Not sure if I would worry. But I agree with finding out the policy and talking to the teachers. If it is a regular issue with pooping in pants at school, the teachers don't have the time just to tend to one child and clean up. It is about learning independence, so in our state as well you could receive a call saying you need to come clean up a mess too it is not that unusual in a short program/class.
