My daughter didn't crawl until a week after her 1st Birthday, she took her real first steps on her own at 18 months. She now runs all over the place and gets into everything. Her real issue was she never liked putting weight on her feet. You would try to stand her up and she would buckle at the knees and collapse. I was worried but not anymore.
My son is 6 months and has zero issue with standing while you hold onto him. He doesn't sit on his own yet (he's close) and he doesn't crawl yet, but standing is no issue for him like it was for his older sister.
My DS was able to sit up and play at 9 months and started crawling at 11 months, then walking at 16 months. My pedi wasn't worried and always checked his back and leg strength when we went in for appointments. I think he was just a big baby and that made it hard for him to support himself while crawling. He's a healthy 3 year old today!
