I was diagnosed at 14. So it was no shocked when my son was diagnosed at 8 months with similar GI symptoms. It's very hard at first and a complete lifestyle change. Once you learn the ins and outs though it's very easy to manage. It's rough for me cause I know what I'm missing, hopefully raising my son gluten free will make it easier for him as he ages. Mostly I'm worried about birthday parties etc because people just don't understand. Gluten is in almost everything so it takes a lot of learning and dedication.

My whole house is gluten free and once you make the change I bet everyone will feel so much better. Good luck!

Thanks for the advice!  We have switched back to a gluten full diet for the purpose of testing and also started probiotics.  DS is doing so much better!  I am optimistic that it is not a gluten issue because I would think he would've gotten much worse when switching back to gluten.  We'll know soon enough.

how was he diagnosed? what were his symptoms

Gassy mucousy bowels that alternated with severe constipation. Month of may he only had 2 bowel movements and both were assisted by suppositories. One short hospital stay and the gastroenterologist diagnosed him. Gluten even passes through breast milk. We were not surprised at all though because of the genetic qualities of the disease.
