Question about GD test numbers

So i just got a call from the doctor office and she said that my cpc was normal but my numbers were elevated so doc wants the three hour test done. I was a little too shocked to really ask any questions so I have a call back in asking what that means and what my numbers were. Did anyone else get told their cpc was normal and what that means?

I could have been . those letters sound the same over the phone . They took two vials of blood so maybe the tested for more then sugar .

1hr GTT is usually just one vial of blood, (at least it was for me when I had it done with both of my pgs).  I can't tell you what the failure levels are in the US as they use a different unit of measure than they do in Canada.  In Canada, they want to see less than 7.2 after 1 hr.  Anything about 11.2 in 1 hr is a failure and GD diagnosis.  My score was 9.5 and my doc is sending me for the 2hr GTT tomorrow.

 Thanks! I'm waiting on my numbers so I'll know how far above or below I was. Hopefully it's just a little . If they don't call back maybe I'll get them when I pick up my order this afternoon for the 3hour one.

In my experience 140 is failing and requires the 3 hour test.  I was thrilled with a 127

 

Thanks . They finally called back and mine were 151 and they said normal was between 65 and 139. sigh..

Are you sure it wasn't CBC? That's complete blood count, and I don't think it has anything to do with the glucose test (not totally sure though!).

 

And you were right, it was CBC to check to see if I was anemic.

That's an awesome number . I guess I should have somewhat expected it. Diabetes does run in the family. My mother developed it later in life in her 50's but she controls it with diet. Guess I should start eating the good carbs and limiting the junk sugar just in case. Problem is I'm coming up allergic to a lot of veggies (raw carrots and bagged lettuces and raw soy beans) and fruits (any melons) that I like to eat. My taster is sensitive to bitter so it's hard to find veggies to eat. I'll have to be proactive and test things out.
