I actually just started pumping yesterday and LO is 3 1/2 weeks old. First pumping session took longer than I thought but worked, second session last night wasn't as productive but still yielded results. This morning...nothing! I've tried three times and got nothing! Also, howdoyou deal with your LO while you are trying to pump?!? Ready to give up and would appreciate any advice you all have...
Re: Frustrated with pumping
I'm an EP'er, and it sounds like you are pumping after nursing? The supply will always be less after nursing, so you might want to feed from one side and pump the other.
As far as what do I do with my LO when pumping...I'm to the point where I can relatively gauge when she will be awake, so I try to pump either 30 minutes before she wakes or if for some reason I miss it, I do it after I've fed her and she's gone down again. If she's not sleeping, she's on her play mat doing tummy time or swing or sitting up against her boppy with a paci in her mouth. The pumping sound seems to sooth her.
Agree with the above.
make sure you are relaxed.
