Breastfeeding

how many feedings/day at 2.5 months?

i know as long as baby is gaining weight at an appropriate rate she's ok. i know this. but i still feel like DD isn't eating often enough.

she sleeps ~8pm-5am, nurses and goes back to sleep and eats every ~3-4 hours during the day.

it's just so different from my son, who ate about every 2 hours during the day and 3-4 hours at night... gah!

she's up >4 lbs from her 6.5 lb birthweight.

Re: how many feedings/day at 2.5 months?

  • Like you said, your dd is gaining an appropriate amount of weight, so she is fine. My dd eats every 2.5-3 hours and weighed a little over 10lb at 2 months and she was born at 8lb 2oz. There was no concern with her, and I don't think there should be for you either. Smile

  • LO nurses every 2h during the day, sometimes less. At night she'll go 4-5 h, then 2-3h.
