That I just now registered to vote. My husband and I have always been of the opinion that voting doesn't really matter, but recently I have decided otherwise. I can't very well complain about the state of politics or complain that Romney might be president if I dont do anything about it.
I made the mistake of telling a family member and it's going to bite me in the a'ss. I live in Texas although Austin doesn't really count, right? so half my friends/family are firmly republican. I don't want to get in a political war so I guess I'm going to have to get good at telling people to back off.

Re: I'm embarrassed to admit
Congrats on registering! I'm personally of the opinion everyone should vote in most elections. Even if you don't like both major party candidates, there are always third parties you can support plus state and local races and issues.
This actually reminded me that I needed to re-register my new address!
Thanks!

I live in Illinois and, while I'm 100% sure Barack Obama would take the state again with or without me, you'd better believe I'm still going to get out there and vote.
Elections are decided by districts that sometimes come down to a few thousand votes. Please see Florida in 2000.
Not to mention, I'm proud of the women who fought for my right and want to pass that pride on to my daughter.
In other words, good work. Thanks for your vote!
