How long did it take you to get pregnant? (Poll)

Just curious! I've had it both ways... first time around it took us almost 4 years...unexplained infertility and ultimately got pregnant via IVF.  This time around, we were shocked that it even happen to begin with-- and in the very first month trying!!!  [Poll]

Zeke was conceived while I was on birth control, so there really isn't any way of me measuring "how long". In any case, we obviously weren't actively trying to get pregnant.

I was on birth control for 12 years.  My son falls in the 1% chance category.  Big fat SURPRISE!

I said SS because I fit into two categories. We got pregnant sometime in December as I was coming off my birth control to start trying, so we weren't really trying at all, it just happened. However, we had an early loss. My midwife suggested we start trying right after my next cycle, so we charted that cycle to avoid pregnancy and then started the next, and on the first try, we got pregnant! SO the first time, without even trying, and the second time, 1-3 months.

Our first BFP came about 10 months from when we first decided to TTC, and we tried continuously in those months.  After our loss, we waited almost 4 months before TTC again, and it was just under 2 years before we got our second BFP but there were a few times that we chose to TTA for a bit because I needed a break.

I voted 1-2 years.

We started July 2010, right after we got married.

I got pg in 4 cycles ttc both times before (both ended in losses). This it was the very next cycle after a hysterosocopy to remove scar tissue from my first loss in 2010.

So it could be 1-2 years (total) or it could be 1 month for this one.

We got pretty lucky as it only took 1 cycle.

Took 7 cycles (the last 2 cycles, I got serious and used OPKs).

With DS, I got pregnant the first month trying.  Once we decided to try for a 2nd, I got pregnant in the first or second month every time, but ended up having 4 miscarriages.  From genetic testing, we found out that I have an abnormality called balanced translocation, which causes a 50% chance of miscarrying every time I get pregnant.  We finally got lucky this time around (an egg that didn't have my translocation), it was the second month we tried after my last miscarriage.

I voted SS. With DS#1 we weren't trying and got pregnant. When trying, I had a miscarriage (only had been trying about 1-2months) we waited a couple months to start trying again. Once we started trying again, only 1-2 months and pregnant again.

My husband and I got married March 15, and we found out a week later I was pregnant! We weren't trying, but we weren't opposed to have a baby at all.

This pg was a total shock. We weren't trying at all.

My 1st DD is another story. We went through 3 years of IF treatments and finally did IVF to conceive her. Since having her 7 years ago, we haven't even bothered with birth control.  

We are so happy with this wonderful surprise after having such a hard time conceiving the first time!

It took us 26 cycles.  2 months before we found out we were expecting we both made the decision to give it 6 more cycles then we were going to take the next step (fertility, adoption).

I had to choose SS.

1st (loss) was on the first try in November, 2009.

2nd (loss) was on the first try in February, 2010.

3rd (loss) was after 3 months in October, 2010.

4th (loss) was after being with an RE for 2 months in April, 2011.

5th try was one failed IVF attempt in August, 2011.

This pregnancy, if you count the time we tried on our own it would be 3 months, then we went back to the RE and got pregnant on the first try.

So honestly, I wouldn't even know how to answer this question.

9 years and 2 months. We couldn't afford fertility treatments, or just couldn't justify the huge cost of it, so we were fortunate that it happened naturally. Finally...
