Hello,
I am due early November and am currently reading into the whole breastfeeding thing. At first, I was just set on formula (I lacked much knowledge) but now am dead set on breastfeeding. The thing is, eventually I will go back to work and I will have to pump the milk and make bottles for daycare. Which is where I need some advice.
What type of bottles do you purchase at the convenient store? Are there type of bottles or nipples I should stay away from?
Re: FTM - need advice on bottles
So you've probably heard by now in relation to a lot of things "every baby is different." This holds especially true for bottles. Some babies will only take a certain kind of bottle and refuse all others, so don't stock up now on any specific brand.
The best bottle for your baby is the one your baby will take - as simple as that. If you're breastfeeding, you'll find that a "slow flow" nipple works best, to help maintain the breastfeeding relationship. This is usually the level 1 nipple that comes with most bottles, however "slow" is different for each brand, so you'll have to experiment with those too. Ideally, it should take your baby as long to eat from the bottle as the breast, but that's rarely the case.
