  • Does she come around mealtime? If so I would try to figure out what she likes & say something like, I saw you were probably hungry when you were feeding DD (or whatever) and I know you like mac & cheese so I put some in the fridge for you. Or maybe if you know there is a snack food she likes, put it out clearly on the counter &say, he I know you like this, so I got you some so you'd have it here when you come since I noticed you might want something to snack on while you're here. Whenever we have sitters I always try to show them where the different sodas/drinks are and stick a bag of something or some cookies on the counter & point out specific things in the pantry (not like 'you can and can't eat' but hey, there are some chips and cookies in the pantry if you want to help yourself)

But honestly, 1.5 hours? If it is a mealtime &she's feeding your DD I could see that (but then I'd just tell her to eat DD's food & make extra). I think it is rude to just go through ppl's fridges & eat their stuff, I would never do that except at my own mother's house and even then I would check to be sure she wasn't saving it for something. (then again, I get mad at MH for doing that too...LOL! He will eat everything & anything without finding out if it is being set aside to use in a dinner or for the kids or what. I end up having to put a post it on the food that says 'pls don't eat- for dinner tomorrow', or whatever. haha.)
