CD hate

So i really want to love cloth diapers but i'm just not feeling it.
it was going really great for like two weeks but now I think I have an ammonia build up or something

how do i wash them now to strip them?

    To strip, start with clean diapers. Do a hot wash with some RLR or a squirt of blue Dawn dish soap. Then do like 5 warm/hot rinses after that, until you see no more suds. 

    Have you only been using the diapers for 2 weeks? You shoudn't have any build up after that short of time.

    I agree that you shouldn't have buildup that fast.  After you strip them, try using less detergent during normal washes.  Also, make sure you're using a CD safe detergent.

    I agree with the pp's that you shouldn't be having build up issues that fast.

    Do your diapers smell like ammonia, or just smell funky? How often are you washing?

    Agreed with the others, unless you're washing with regular detergent you shouldn't have ammonia buildup so quickly.

    Do your diapers smell like barnyard, or do they leave a sharp "sting" in your nose?

    If they smell like barnyard, you're not using enough soap.

    Congrats on your LO i remember you from before when you were building your stash. Do you have much you got used? I have some fitteds i got used that smell fine washed but as soon as he wets them they reek of ammonia.

     What makes you think you have ammonia build up?

    why else dont you like them? 

    whats your normal wash like?
