Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Widened hips

My daughter is going on 11 months and I'm noticing my hips still being wide. It's my bones. There isn't much fat on them. I've gone from a size 4 to an 8 just because of my hip bones. I get they widen when your pregnant and deliver. But i always thought they shrink back. Am I wrong? Or do you have to do certain Exsersizes? I walk regularly.

Re: Widened hips

  • For some women they go back down and for some they don't. There are no exercises that can move your bones back into place.

  • I've noticed it too.  No way am I ever fitting into some of my pre pregnancy shorts and I lost the weight, just my body is, well, not the same.  Good times Sad
  • I have the same issue. I've went from a size 0 to a 4 because of my hips. I feel like they may forever be wide...
  • Sorry to say the change in permanent, it is part of the how archeologists can tell if the female body the uncover ever had children.
  • Mine are wider too.  My daughter turns 1 in just 2 weeks and my body will never be the same in MANY ways.  In fact, my hips changed altogether.  They don't curve in the same shape they did before and they crack daily.  Ahh, the sacrifices we mom's make :)
