Hemp/bamboo inserts in pocket diapers

We have been using FB perfect size and BG4.0 with great success until recently. Now that DS is 16 month he's peeing through the microfiber too quickly so I'd like to add some natural inserts. I'm wondering if I should just add a hemp doubler to the microfiber or ditch the microfiber and replace the inserts with hemp/bamboo. Thoughts? Also, any favorite brands or preferences between materials? Thanks!

Re: Hemp/bamboo inserts in pocket diapers

  • Ouse just hemp inserts overnight for my toddler. I have the Joey bunz premium and use two per diaper.

  • I just use hemp and bamboo inserts in my pocket diapers, but many people combine them with MF.  It's just whatever works well for your LO.  I have Thirsties, Joey Bunz, and AFFF hemp inserts.  I have Sbish, Blueberry, Swaddlebees, and Rumparooz bamboo inserts.

  • My kiddo is young still, but we just started using the Blueberry combination inserts in a few dipes and are digging them.  They aren't even close to soaked when we take them out during the day time.  Haven't tried nights yet since we are still doing fitteds at night.  She's sensitive to wetness, which is why we decided to stick with a little bit of microfiber.

  • We use AMP hemp doublers, Kawaii bamboo, and Alva bamboo/MF. I like them all. I have some Whamies hemp inserts, and they're my least favorite. They're sort of a knit fabric rather than a fleece, and that does make them slower absorbing.

My favorite honestly are the Alva 4 layers. Doubled up, I can use it overnight.
