so i haven't flown since before DD was born and i'm rusty. i've looked online and see the liquids must be in 3.4 oz bottles or smaller. but then it says certain necessary medications can be in a larger size. well i just bought some Benadryl for DD (not just cuz of the takeoff/landing but she also has a cold, ugh) and it came in 4oz bottle. will that be a problem?
(and at that rate, my travel contact lens solution is also 4oz, oops)
has anyone had experience with this?? we're leaving in the morning. i know, i plan really well. hehehhe.. help!
from TSA.gov:
"Declare larger liquids. Medications, baby formula and food, and breast milk are allowed in reasonable quantities exceeding three ounces and are not required to be in the zip-top bag. Declare these items for inspection at the checkpoint. Officers may need to open these items to conduct additional screening."
Re: DD's first flight - can i bring 4oz benadryl for her?
Both are ok in larger sizes, you just have to declare or separate out from your carry-on.
For reference:
You may bring all prescription and over-the-counter medications (liquids, gels, and aerosols) including petroleum jelly, eye drops, and saline solution for medical purposes.
Additional items you may bring include:
You are not limited in the amount or volume of these items you may bring in your carry-on baggage. BUT if the medically necessary items exceed 3 ounces or are not contained in a one-quart, zip-top plastic bag, you MUST declare to one of our Security Officers at the checkpoint for further inspection.
yeah i figured i could buy more inside the airport if necessary. this is a brand new bottle so i hope they dont take it. i was hoping someone on here had tried this before... anyone, anyone?
it's a super short flight and we're not checking any bags.
ahhh just what i was looking for, THANK YOU!!!
