Has anyone delivered or toured at the new hospital? Looking for reviews. I delivered my other 3 children at St Mary's in Livonia, I am changing Dr's this time around, most likely using Metro Partners. I can't seem to find any reviews on the new hospital though. I really don't want to use my old OB or deliver at St. Mary's again due to several bad experiences. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

That hospital is close to my house, so I considered delivering there, but I read an article that special needs infants would go to Southfield. Not sure if that is the case currently, but you might want to check into that.
Good luck!
I haven't toured it yet. But the NICU is still at Southfield. The state wouldn't let them split the certification.
So if you have problems, or any reason to expect problems that is something to consider. But maybe in 8mos things will be fine.
I will let you know how it all goes. I see Thai at Metro I like her!
Thanks so much ladies! So, there may be a NICU at Novi soon? When I saw pics of Providence Park labor rooms, I was surprised that there was no decorations on the walls, just plain white walls. Not that all white walls would be a huge issue, I would just like some warm cozy colors or a border. They may have painted and added things since they opened, I guess I will have to call them for a tour.
I just delievered there on 10-22. My little guy was 3 weeks early and had to be in the "Special Care Nursery". Yes it's true there is not a NICU but the SCN is just amazing for alot of "regular" premie issues. DS had immature lungs and was on a CPAP for 4 days. The peanut across the hall from us was delivered at 28 weeks and she was on a vent for the first 3 weeks of life, (she was almost 6 weeks when we got there). So there are many issues that the SCN can handle.
The L&D staff were amazing as well. All of the nurses are veteran L&D nurses and the facility is very nice. I would recommend delivering there to everyone I know.
I encourage you to tour the LDRP area at Providence Park. We delivered there on 10/23 after starting induction on 10/22. The registration was smooth (they come right to your room and do it via computer), and the care I received during my labor and delivery was phenomenal. As a first-time mom, I was extremely nervous, but all of the nurses were available and willing to answer any questions at any time. My main nurses stayed with me for 12 hour shifts, and both had been in nursing for a number of years (one for almost 25!) which truly put me at ease.
I took a one-day childbirth class through a nurse named Cathy in the LDRP unit. My OBGYN had given her my name in a list of "due soon" moms. During the class, she gave a great deal of information about the LDRP unit and how it runs.
