I have an 18 month old and a new born and my 18 month old still nurses. Mainly when he is tired, but since our new little bundle of joy arrived he seems to want to nurse when she does. The pediatrician has recommended not depriving him and introducing a new baby to the family at the same time, so my question is when is the right time?
Re: When is the right time to wean a baby?
There isn't one answer to this. The book "Adventures in Tandem Nursing" explores all the options; you have to decide what you're willing and able to do and then work toward that.
Honestly, it's kind of refreshing to hear about a pedi that is urging you to continue nursing, though. Most would not.
