IS anyone on bedrest n had to hire help?

I am on bedrest with placenta previa and had to hire full time help for other two little boys- ages 3 and 5- and help with me too. It is really breaking the bank since I dont work. Can you tell me your experience? It stinks too bc I'm home so they dont want to listen to this new person so I feel like I must stay in my bedroom all the time, so they'll learn to bond w/her- and turning my room into a complete prison! Help!

Last year, a lady at my church had placenta previa, and went on bedrest sometime close to the start of her 3rd Tri... and her son ended up being born about 5 weeks early, via C-Section. This was her 5th, so she had 4 other kids at home. Our church totally helped with childcare and housework; maybe you go to church, or have friends from some other avenue, who might be willing/able to help you. Also, she was on "light bedrest" so that she could get up to go to the bathroom, and could walk only if she had to (like from the bedroom to the living room couch) so she spent her days on the living room couch and not locked away in the bedroom. If your kids are home, I wouldn't hide myself away from them... as long as they're not trying to bounce all over you or anything. If you're out there, they should obey you and the helper can take care of the other necessary kid-issues.

I'm on hospital bedrest for a placenta previa. Had 4 major bleeds and innumerable small ones. I am on medical leave from work, as I've exhausted all my FMLA. I'm the only one who works, as dh is a SAHD. I have STD, but it's only about 30 percent of my income. We're seriously hurting financially. We've cut back on a lot of stuff, got my student loans deferred, etc. but when you live at a certain income... It hurts. Thank God for savings! We won't be able to buy a house exactly when we wanted, but we'll get there.

We have a bed rest check in on the high risk board and we recently had a thread about the financial strain of bedrest. Maybe two or three weeks ago. It's searchable. I think it was called bed rest and finances. GL.
